Solid waste management is one of the main environmental challenges in cities around the world due to factors such as population growth and consumption habits. One of the main tools for the design of waste management projects is the estimation of per capita generation, however, the traditional method to obtain this information demands a lot of effort and time, therefore this research proposes an alternative approach to estimate per capita generation based on socioeconomic factors. The objective of this research was to evaluate the flocculant power of three types of starches, from white and yellow potato (Solanum tuberosum) and pituca (Colocasia esculenta) to remove turbidity in surface water. For this purpose, starch was extracted by mashing potatoes with a water/mass ratio of 1:4 and pituca with a ratio of 1:1, then sedimented and dried at 45 °C for 24 hours. Flocculant was prepared by dissolving 10 grams of starch in 250 ml of hot water at 60 °C and then boiled. Evaluation of the flocculant involved aluminum sulfate coagulation of the surface water, adjusting the pH to 9, and then coagulant was dosed until the pH was lowered to 6.9. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo optimizar las dosis de alúmina que permite la mayor eficiencia de remoción en el agua de consumo humano de la UNAS. Para ello se utilizó agua preparada Caolínica que representaron la turbidez del agua natural, también se ajustó el pH inicial de las muestras para evaluar el pH en el que ocurre las mejores eficiencias de remoción. Se construyó una curva patrón para determinar las concentraciones de caolín y posteriormente se relacionó el caolín con la turbidez en un polinomio de grado 3, teniendo los coeficientes de correlación R2 de 0.996 y 0.999 respectivamente. Los valores de turbidez iniciales fueron de 50, 200 y 400 UNT, los cuales se acondicionaron a pH 8, 9 y 10 y la dosificación de alúmina fue de 3, 6, 9, 12 y 15 mL de una solución madre de 8000 ppm. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of surface water used for irrigation in the Huallaga basin. We worked with water quality monitoring data in the basin conducted by the National Water Authority (ANA) counting 139 monitoring points, evaluating 41 parameters for the period 2014 - 2019, the Peruvian Water Quality Index (ICA - PE) intended for irrigation was calculated, using as reference values the Environmental Quality Standard (ECA) for surface water in category 3 D1 (irrigation water). Of the 139 monitoring points, 26 (18.71%) were of excellent quality, 62 (44.60%) of good quality, 35 (25.18%) of fair quality, 13 (9.35%) of poor quality and 3 (2.16%) of very poor quality. This study demonstrates the benefits of implementing video analysis (VA) in physics instruction. It aims at demonstrating that the implementation of VA, in addition to being a low-cost and easy-to-use technique, significantly improves students’ understanding level of graphs in kinematics (ULGK). The study compares the results obtained after applying the Test of Understanding Graphs in Kinematics (TUG-K) on a practical kinematics class in a traditional lecture against one conducted using VA, in order to evaluate the influence of VA on students’ ULGK. The population was comprised of 60 students, 30 per group, from the School of Engineering of the Universidad de Huánuco. The results show that a strong, highly significant point-biserial correlation (rpb = 0.809) (p < 0.0001) exists between these two variables, that VA has an average impact on the ULGK (Hake = 32.5%) and that the ULGK...

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo estimar la probabilidad de pérdidas (destrucción) de hectáreas agrícolas por inundaciones en función de las hectáreas inundadas. Para ello se utilizó la base de datos de desastres del Instituto Nacional de Defensa Civil (INDECI) del Perú para el periodo 2003 – 2017; en donde se realizó un análisis descriptivo de las perdidas agrícolas por inundaciones, luego se construyó una curva que relaciona la probabilidad de pérdida de áreas agrícolas en función de las áreas inundadas, separando la probabilidad en percentiles P0, P33 y P66 para las regiones de costa, selva alta, selva baja y sierra.
