“The general objective of this article was to construct and describe the psychometric properties of a scale of selfcare behaviors against COVID-19. It was a descriptive, cross-sectional, psychometric validation study of a scale created to measure self-care behaviors in relation to COVID-19 in a total sample of 333 probabilistically selected. Qualitative validity was evaluated by a review of 10 experts and quantitative validity by means of exploratory factor analysis using the principal components method. Internal consistency was measured with Cronbach’s alpha twice and the test-retest was evaluated by calculating the intraclass coefficient. The final scale consisted of 29 items. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test of adequacy yielded a value of 0.926, and the Bartlett’s test of sphericity X² = 4611 with a p-value < 0.001. The variance explained by the three retained factors with a total o...

Objective. To determine the relationship between study habits and academic performance in students of English as a second language. Methods. Research with a quantitative approach, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional with a non-experimental and correlational design, for the collection of information on study habits, the inventory of study habits CASM-85 was used and for academic performance data, school records were used. The sample consisted of 208 students between 13 and 23 years old, who were selected through a simple random probabilistic sampling, from a population of 454. Results. There was a very low, positive and direct relationship between study habits and academic performance (Spearmans Rho=0.18; p=0,009), in the case of the relationship between the dimensions of study habits with academic performance, only the dimension dedication to homework was significant (Spearmans R...

The toothbrush has evolved significantly throughout history, starting with the use of chewing sticks or miswak in ancient civilizations such as Babylon, around 3500-3000 BC. These sticks, derived from plants like Salvadora persica, have been used to this day in various parts of the world, especially in regions with limited access to modern dental products. The transition to more complex tools occurred with the invention of the first toothbrushes with handles andbristles during the Tang Dynasty in China (618-907 AD). Over the centuries, the design and materials of toothbrushes were refined, notably with the work of William Addis in 1780, who created the frst modern toothbrush with a bone handle and boar bristles. In the 20th century, advances in material technology, such as the introduction of nylon in 1938, replaced natural bristles with synthetic fibers that were more durable and easier...
