This paper identifies variables that discriminate between participants and non-participants considering electoral and non-electoral dimensions of political participation in Córdoba, Argentina. A study was conducted by survey on a representative sample of the population (N = 450). The discriminant analysis allowed recognizing the contribution of right-wing autho ritarianism (RWA), collectivism, political collectivism, political interest and of participatory measure of “political efficacy”, to such differentiation in two dimensions of participation: electoral-campaign and contact with organizations and political figures. These results show the relationship of RWA with different political behavior of party preferences; and verify the relationship of different values and a participatory measure of “political efficacy” with broad participation repertoires.

This article presents evidence of validity and reliability of the Spanish version of the Psychosocial Values Questionnaire (QVP-24) by Pereira, Camino and Da Costa (2004). This instrument is based on a theoretical approach that combines sociological and psychological perspectives of the social values analysis. Two similar samples of citizens from Córdoba (AR) between 18 and 70 years old were surveyed. With data from the first sample, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted, while data from the second sample was used to obtain confirmatory evidence of the instrument’s structure. The results yielded four dimensions, which showed adequate adjustment and internal consistency coefficients. In addition, evidence of concurrent validity was obtained through the correlation of these dimensions with a right wing authoritarianism (RWA) scale (Etchezahar, Cervone, Biglieri, Quattrocchi, &am...

The objective of this work was to develop and validate a scale of attitudes towards people from different social classes in citizens of Gran Córdoba (Argentina) aged 18 to 65 years. A bank of 34 items was constructed and three identical versions were designed in which what varies is the evaluated group (high, middle or low class). The factor analysis showed a structure of two negatively correlated factors in the three versions of the scale. Specifically, one factor refers to positive emotions, beliefs and behaviors, while the other factor refers to negative emotions and beliefs towards people from different social classes. In addition, the results indicated adequate internal consistency for the three versions of the instrument.
