The investigation «Migration Shipibo-conibo and sociocultural adaptation in the community of Nuevo San Juan, Pucallpa - Ucayali, 2007-2014» led us to the in-depth analysis of the sociocultural adaptation as a result of the migration phenomenon in the Shipibo-conibo population of the region, who face problems in their place of origin, which lead them to migrate to a location closer to the urban area. In this context, this migrant population, is subjected to a process of sociocultural adaptation, as part of the adaptation to the way of life in the place of destination and thus bring about a new social status with the aim of improving their expectations of life, translated into work improvements for adults and education for their children.

La investigación «Migración shipibo-conibo y adaptación sociocultural en la Comunidad Nuevo San Juan, Pucallpa - Ucayali, 2007-2014»1 nos condujo al análisis profundo de la adaptación sociocultural como consecuencia del fenómeno migratorio de la población shipibo-conibo de la región, quienes afrontan problemas en su lugar de origen, los cuales los conducen a migrar a un lugar más cercano al área urbana. En este contexto, dicha población migrante, se somete a un proceso de adaptación sociocultural, como parte de la adecuación al modo de vida en el lugar de destino y así lograr un nuevo estatus social con la finalidad de mejorar sus expectativas de vida, traducidos en mejoras laborales para los adultos y educativas para sus hijos.

The national teen pregnancy indicators still are in alarming numbers, the «Sociological study about the teen pregnancy in Ucayali region: 2000-2012» analyzes this phenomenon in the mentioned region. Taking as a point of stadistical reference the Encuesta Demográfica de Salud (ENDES) we analyze the evolution of the mentioned indicators. Also the fieldwork realized in the establishments of the MINSA in Pucallpa’s city, it allows us to get conclusions about the life experiences of the pregnant teenagers.

This despite the shortage of water for irrigation, the abandonment of villages and annexes that are above 3,000 meters above sea level and the migration of the young population, detracting from the local workforce. We also verify the lack of attention to cultural heritage and education, in terms of health, primary care prevails.
