Analiza en los instrumentos de gestión y en las concepciones de los docentes, la integración de la dimensión ambiental en la formación de profesionales de salud de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNMSM y propone lineamientos para su integración en los procesos de evaluación curricular. Se trata de una investigación cualitativa, tipo Estudio de Caso, se utilizaron las técnicas de análisis documental y la entrevista. Se analizaron documentos de gestión, planes curriculares y silabos. Se entrevistaron a 13 docentes de las cinco escuelas seleccionados por muestreo socioestructural. Para el procesamiento y análisis se usó el software ATLAS.Ti. Los resultados y análisis evidencian, presencia de la dimensión ambiental en documentos de gestión de la Universidad y Facultad. This article presents bibliographic and testimonials information about the history of the professionalization of public health, and the professional development of the sanitarians in Peru during the period between 1935 and 1968, in order to provide legitimacy to the comments that were made about the internal and external reasons of achievements and limitations of both process during, and at the end of this period. For this purpose, the article is organized into six sections: Background information of the region of the Americas and Peru; the professionalization of public health in Peru (1935-1968); Public health professional development and the foreign cooperation in Peru (1935-1968); the training programs for sanitarians in Peru (1961-1963); the School of Public Health of Peru (1964-1968); and, comments about the situation of the sanitarians in the sixties decade.

Introduction. Depression in the elderly population is a public health issue and few studies analyze its distribution according to geographic areas. Objectives. To describe the geospatial distribution and associated factors of depressive syndrome (DS) in Peruvian older adults according to ENDES 2018 to 2020. Methods. Cross-sectional and analytical study based on data from national surveys, which used the PHQ-9 scale to measure DS. The analysis used Pearson’s Chi square test and multivariate logistic regression and OR with p < 0,05. Results.  The prevalence of DS in 2018 was 12.9%; 13.3% in 2019 and 10.8% in 2020. The factors associated with DS were: being a woman, living in poverty, having secondary education, residing in rural areas, coming from the mountains and jungle, living alone and being 75 years of age or older.
