To relate the presence of Candida Albicans as an aggravating factor in patients with COVID-19, a bibliographic review was carried out in the Redalyc, Scielo, PubMed, Research gate, Science direct, Google scholar databases. The inclusion criteria used were: articles in English and Spanish as well as articles published from 2020 to date. 65 scientific articles that met the search criteria were analyzed and it was possible to determine that Oral candidiasis negatively affects patients with COVID-19 infection, increasing the risk of admission to the ICU with the use of artificial ventilators.

The present review aims to determine the characteristics of flexible prostheses and their prosthetic alternatives, for this, the PubMed, SciELO and Scholar google databases were used and the following keywords were used: flexible prosthesis, “valplast” and nylon prosthesis. A total of 30 articles were collected in English, Spanish and Portuguese languages. It was determined that flexible type removable prostheses (nylon) are characterized by their elasticity and ease of adopting colors, improving their aesthetics, unfortunately the material that makes them up does not seem to meet all the desired properties in the long term. Its use can be implemented as long as it is temporarily.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro anti-Candida albicans effect of 100% peppermint extract compared with 5% sodium hypochlorite on acrylic dental prostheses. Materials and Methods: This in vitro experimental analysis was carried out with 30 pieces of thermocured acrylic resin, 15 mm long x 15 mm thick, manufactured with attributes similar to those of a partially removable acrylic denture. The polymerization times and polishing procedures set by the manufacturer were strictly adhered to.  sample processing and analysis were perfomed at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Academic Health and Wellness Unit at the Azogues campus of the Catholic University of Cuenca. Results: Both the 100% peppermint extract and 5% sodium hypochlorite were shown to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans after 15 minutes of exposure. Conclusions:  The 100% peppermint extract and 5% sodium hypochlorite have a...

To determinate the efficacy of natural disinfectants against Candida Albicans in partial and total dental prostheses. This is a bibliographic review that focused on the search for scientific articles on disinfection of prostheses by natural methods on Scopus, SciELO and Google scholar databases. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 27 articles were selected that met the theoretical characteristics applicable to the research topic. Natural disinfectants such as mint, lemon verbena and thyme eliminate Candida albicans when exposed to concentrations of 50% for 24 hours, oregano is effective in concentrations less than 10% with the same exposure time, while muña demonstrates effectiveness in concentrations greater than 75%. The care and management of a prosthetic device is a priority, since the oral cavity is an ideal environment for the multiplication of microorganisms such...
