Departamento Académico de Producción AnimalEl presente Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional (TSP), tuvo como objetivo reportar el peso del vellón de vicuñas esquiladas a través de la evaluación de la información encontrada en los registros de captura y esquila de vicuñas vivas, generados por las Direcciones Regionales de Agricultura en los Gobiernos Regionales de los departamentos de Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno y Tacna. La información de estos registros fue sistematizada, depurada y analizada en base al departamento donde habitan las vicuñas esquiladas, sistema de manejo en el que son conducidas y a su categorización, establecida según sexo y edad; así como la evolución a través de los años que abarca el presente estudio (2008 al 2020). Esta evaluación estuvo motivada porque se evidenció que el incremento de vicuñas que se esquilan anualmente, no se encontraba en la misma proporción que la fibra obtenida de cada vellón, motivo por el cual se evaluó la información a través de un análisis de estadística descriptiva para los valores de peso de vellón, comprendiendo medias, desviación estándar y coeficiente de variación. Los resultados obtenidos, nos demuestran que el peso promedio de vellón de las vicuñas esquiladas durante los años 2008 – 2020 ha disminuido de 180 a 174 gramos, siendo Moquegua con 208 gramos (DS ± 14.03 g, CV 6,73%), el departamento que ha esquilado vellones con peso promedio mayores, seguido de Tacna (x 204 g, DS ± 19,88 g, CV 9,75%), Huancavelica (x 196 g, DS ± 7,48 g, CV 3,83%), Arequipa (x 188 g, DS ± 5,23 g, CV 2,79%) y Cusco (182 g, DS ± 9,80 g, CV 5,39%). Asimismo, se ha estimado que la disminución del peso del vellón (4 496.78 kg. de fibra esquilada) ha significado un menor ingreso a las organizaciones vicuñeras de aproximadamente US $ 1’897,618.80, considerando el peso promedio de vellón obtenido al inicio del periodo de estudio. Respecto a las diferencias entre los pesos de vellones por categoría, se determinó que los machos adultos tienen peso promedio de vellón de 193 gramos, las hembras adultas de 181 g, los machos juveniles 148 g y las hembras juveniles 147 g. La disminución del vellón es de 10 gramos para hembras juveniles, 8 gramos para hembras adultas, 7 gramos para machos adultos y 1 gramo para machos juveniles. El peso promedio de vellón esquilado en el periodo 2008 – 2020 bajo el sistema de silvestría es de 172 gramos y para semicautiverio de 171 gramos.The objective of this Professional Sufficiency Study (TSP) was to report the fleece weight of sheared vicuñas by evaluating the information found in the records of capture and shearing of live vicuñas, generated by the Regional Agriculture Directorates of the Regional Governments of the departments of Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huancavelica, Ica, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno and Tacna. The information from these records was systematized, purified and analyzed based on the department where the sheared vicuñas live, the management system in which they are managed and their categorization, established according to sex and age; as well as the evolution over the years covered by this study (2008 to 2020). This evaluation was motivated because it became evident that the increase in the number of vicuñas sheared annually was not in the same proportion as the fiber obtained from each fleece, which is why the information was evaluated through a descriptive statistical analysis for the fleece weight values, including means, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. The results obtained show that the average fleece weight of the vicuñas sheared during the years 2008 - 2020 has decreased from 180 to 174 grams, with Moquegua having sheared fleeces with 208 grams (SD ± 14. 03 g, CV 6.73%), the department that has sheared fleeces with higher average weights, followed by Tacna (x204 g, SD ± 19.88 g, CV 9.75%), Huancavelica (x196 g, SD ± 7.48 g, CV 3.83%), Arequipa (x188 g, SD ± 5.23 g, CV 2.79%) and Cusco (182 g, SD ± 9.80 g, CV 5.39%). Likewise, it has been estimated that the decrease in fleece weight (4,496.78 kg of sheared fiber) has meant a lower income for the vicuña organizations of approximately US$ 1,897,618.80, considering the average fleece weight obtained at the beginning of the study period.
