La investigación consta de dos fases: entrenamiento y evaluación. El estudio ha permitido ver que los alumnos de la muestra carecían de preparación en temas referentes al uso de estrategias de aprendizaje y que los convierte en dependientes del profesor. Además, mostró que necesitan exposición frecuente a los ítems lexicales nuevos, revisión periódica de estos así como manipulación del idioma que se encuentran aprendiendo con el fin de incrementar la retención de estos.
