description Se realizó el presente trabajo de investigación no experimental, de corte transversal y de tipo correlacional, con el objetivo de conocer la influencia de autocontrol y estrategias de afrontamiento en la violencia escolar en adolescentes del distrito de Cascas en una muestra compuesta por 440 alumnos del 1er al 5to año de secundaria matriculados en el año 2017, con edades entre 11 a 19 años. Se utilizó el cuestionario de autocontrol infantil y adolescente CACIA, de Capafons, et al. (1985), Escala de afrontamiento para adolescentes ACS, creada por Frydenberg y Lewis (1993), y el Cuestionario para evaluar la violencia escolar en Educación secundaria CUVE3-ESO, creada por Álvarez, et al., (2013); Los resultados señalaron en la hipótesis general que algunas de las dimensiones de las variables de autocontrol y estrategias de afrontamiento se correlacionan significativamente o logran explicar a la violencia escolar.
