Antecedentes: El delirio es un síndrome neuropsiquiátrico variable, ya que depende de los contextos sanitarios y cantidad de factores de riesgos que puedan presentar los usuarios siendo la principal causa el dolor; actualmente es prioridad que el personal de salud se enfoque en identificar, prevenir y tratarlo, ya que el paciente en que lo sufre puede convertirse en una amenaza para sí mismo y para los que lo rodean; los tratamientos del delirio sin farmacológicos y no farmacológicos. Objetivo: Describir las intervenciones de enfermería para la prevención del delirio. Métodos y Materiales: Investigación de revisión bibliográfica, descriptiva, retrospectivo para la que se recopilaron 20 artículos científicos de los últimos cinco años en las bases de datos: Scielo, PubMed, Elsevier, Science Direct y Google Académico. Resultados: Existe mayor número de artículos publicados en Estados Unidos y Países Bajos, el idioma predominante fue el inglés, el año donde se produjeron más investigaciones fueron el 2021 y 2022 y la base de datos con más artículos referentes al tema es PubMed. Conclusión: La prevención oportuna del delirio es muy importante para su tratamiento y evitar las complicaciones; el personal de enfermería al estar en contacto directo con el paciente, es el responsable de la observación, prevención, identificación de los factores de riesgos, poner en práctica los tratamientos no farmacológicos, y coordinar los tratamientos farmacológicos con los médicos. |

Objective: Describe nursing interventions for the prevention of delirium for critically ill patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Methodos and Materials: Descriptive, retrospective bibliographic review research for which 20 scientific articles from the last five years were collected in the databases: Scielo, PubMed, Elsevier, Science Direct and Google Scholar. Results: There is a greater number of articles published in the United States and the Netherlands, the predominant language was English, the year in which the most research was produced was 2021 and 2022 and the database with the most articles referring to the topic is PubMed.
