The study was developed with a bivariate correlation model and a sample of 169 respondents was studied. Determining that the variables the family environment and technology are those that influence the reading habits of the students of the State University studied.Esta investigación estudia los factores determinantes de los hábitos de lectura en estudiantes universitarios de una Universidad regional Estatal Chilena. Los estudios de los hábitos de lectura en Universidades estatales chilenas no son demasiados, la formación del estudiante lector, deriva en una educación por el placer de leer, por lo cual, se pretende estudiar qué factores son claves a la hora de la formación del estudiante. El estudio se desarrolló con un modelo de correlaciones bivariadas y se estudió una muestra de 169 encuestados.
