This work, in synthesis, is about the exercise of good corporate management practice. The systematic nature of administration, alignment, strategy and skills in the metal mining sector in peru, influence of the Resource and Capacity development theory. We also deal with the value chain, competitive advantages, strategies and skills in the metal mining activity and mining strata. From the development of these points, we set up as conclusions that all formal, legal or illegal strata coexist somehow because the legal ones can export all production. On the other hand, it is required a strategy, promotion, planning and specialized professional leadership in this industry. At the same time, it is required that the government support all this effort and the centers of technical and vocational training in geology, mining, metallurgy, chemistry and related competences define and design formation ...

This paper analyzes the process of university-industry technology transfer (UITT) and innovation activity among universities in Mexico. The objective of this paper is twofold. First, it presents the main results from the University-Industry Technology Transfer Activity survey in Mexico (UITTAM) (UITTAM, 2018). Second, it investigates the process of UITT activity in Mexico, applying the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) methods developed by C.C. Ragin (1987, 2000, 2006, 2008). In so doing, the QCA model computed in this research makes use of data released from the UITTAM.

The mining sector in Peru is the most influential industry in the development of our economy, contributes 20% of fiscal revenues, contributes around 14% national GDP and 62% of exports. Mining activity produces prosperity in the areas where it is carried out, but undoubtedly generates an environmental impact like any other activity. In recent years, mining megaprojects have been paralyzed by the social conflict between companies and communities, who oppose the implementation of these basing their arguments on the pollution generated by this sector. Unaware that all development goes hand in hand with pollution, but it is the responsibility of the companies themselves to minimize them. Working with communities is an essential and complex issue in the development of mining activity, it is a challenge to which we have to adapt and propose possible scenarios that lead to the development of mi...

This article explores the Omegaverse, a fictional universe created and developed by fans and amateur writers. Despite being born far from business logic, it has drawn the interest of the editorial industry, which now profits from its popularity. The analysis pays special attention to the Omegaverse’s formal features, for which it reconstructs its evolution from its beginnings in 2009 until 2021, both online and in print. The results confirm that its development has resulted in the birth of a narrative matrix of its own, inscribed the fantasy genre, which facilitates its dissemination and serves as a guide to create and promote its followers’ expectations. Fanfictions have in the Omegaverse a robust example of how their stories can be as captivating as those produced by the industry.

Today, entrepreneurship is crucial for economic growth and innovation. Therefore, we seek to analyze the role of universities in fostering entrepreneurship and to learn about strategies and good practices to promote entrepreneurship among students. To this end, a multimodal systematic review was conducted. The results highlight that integrating entrepreneurship into the curriculum, providing financial support and access to resources, establishing incubators and co-working spaces, networking with industry and local entrepreneurial ecosystems, and offering mentoring and business advice are effective strategies to promote entrepreneurship among university students. In addition, five key elements are identified to create an enabling environment for successful entrepreneurship: fostering an entrepreneurial culture, providing education and training, offering financial support, and establishing...

University radio stations in Colombia have become a significant contributor to the country's creative and cultural industry, having developed their unique identities over almost a century of existence. In the last two decades, the number of university radio stations has grown exponentially, with over 80 stations from 60 universities of various types (public and private), identities (confessional, secular, regional, national), and focuses (educational and research). Each station has acquired distinct characteristics. The study presented here used both quantitative (survey and analysis sheets) and qualitative (interview and documentary review) methods to investigate university radio stations and their agents. The aim was to identify and analyze the challenges faced by the directors of this type of radio station. The analysis focused on the relationship between the media and the university,...

Desertion is a problem that affects public and private universities, and leads to a series of negative consequences for both institutions and students. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine how the use of predictive models in low pass-rate courses helps to identify students at risk of desertion. Seven predictive models were designed using CRISP (Cross- Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) methodology and students’ academic records to be applied in seven low pass-rate courses. Among the main results, it can be noted that predictive models contributed to the reduction of fail rates by 25% and 40%, and that the variables that best forecast desertion were career choice (vocation), number of times students enrolled in the course, and grades obtained in mathematics or language arts when students attended the fifth year of high school.

The main purpose for this study was to find out which factors at the university level affect the ability to commercialize their invention patents in a Latin American country. Twenty-one Colombian universities participated in this study. The information was treated by the Partial Least Squares regression (PLS) path model. The primary information was obtained from the application of a survey to a random sample of 87 invention patents, whose holder is a Colombian university. Of the answers received, the one that generates the most concern is the fact that almost 80% of patents of invention have not been commercialized. This discovery is new for the Colombian case and it is something for which until now there was no scientific evidence. This not only questions the effectiveness of the country's Innovation System, but also forces to review the processes of scientific research and patenting ca...
