This work tackles the study of the quality and authenticity of oils labeled and commercialized as extra virgin sacha inchi oil. Major and minor components as triglycerides, fatty acid methyl esters, tocopherols, sterols and hydrocarbons are determined as well as other physicochemical parameters (density, viscosity, acidity and peroxide value). The results showed that some of the commercialized oils do not fulfill the basic requirement established in the regulation such as the content of a-linolenic acid, higher than 44.7 or 55.0% in the cases of P. volubilis and P. huayllabambana, respectively. The calculated stigmasterol/campesterol ratio for genuine sacha inchi oils should be around 4, however not all commercial oils analyzed comply with this requirement. The presence of the flavons sesamin and sesamolin indicates the addition of compounds from sesame oils. Finally, some of the commerc...

The achievements obtained after the systematic review carried out are shown, in which the characteristics of the studies of the life phases of pavements focused on cracking and care will be identified, and the consensus reached. To achieve this, the Redalyc, Web of Science, Scopus and Scielo databases were reviewed, which resulted in 10 articles that covered the criteria of the subject. Theoretically, most of the works use the rule-based theory. In order to fully understand and address the problems of roof cracks and maintenance-oriented life cycle, it is recommended to develop studies using various samples and a database, where a review procedure is carried out to verify the basic information according to the subject. And as for the assessment, it is given according to national and international research sources where they are compared on certain variables and factors to be considered. ...

During host colonization, bacteria use the alarmones (p)ppGpp to reshape their proteome by acting pleiotropically on DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis. Here, we elucidate how the initiating ribosome senses the cellular pool of guanosine nucleotides and regulates the progression towards protein synthesis. Our results show that the affinity of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and the inhibitory concentration of ppGpp for the 30S-bound initiation factor IF2 vary depending on the programmed mRNA. The TufA mRNA enhanced GTP affinity for 30S complexes, resulting in improved ppGpp tolerance and allowing efficient protein synthesis. Conversely, the InfA mRNA allowed ppGpp to compete with GTP for IF2, thus stalling 30S complexes. Structural modeling and biochemical analysis of the TufA mRNA unveiled a structured enhancer of translation initiation (SETI) composed of two consecutive hairpins proximal to ...

Noise, responsible to sound pollution, is catalogued as the energy originated by a vibratory phenomenon that is detected by the ear and causes a sensation of discomfort, that affects people, causing affectations in hearing, physiological functions, mental health, behavior, and performance of people. However, it is the most ignored environmental pollutant. Due this reason, we carried study to assess perception of the effects produced by the sound pressure since the vehicle fleet on the basic cognitive skills of elementary school students. We conducted noise monitoring in the areas surrounding the educational institution and we applied surveys related to sound perception and its effects on basic cognitive skills, specifically on attention, concentration and memory in elementary school children. The results obtained from the noise monitoring showed that the sound pressure levels in the stud...

Exploring disruptive behaviors in adolescents in basic education and their implications on their development is necessary to have updated information and support coherent measures. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the scientific literature on antisocial behaviors and physical aggression in adolescents enrolled in the Scopus database between 2010 and 2024. Scoping review was used as a method for bibliometric or retrospective studies, the terms used were: disruptive behavior, antisocial behaviour, deviant behavior, physical aggression, aggression, corporal aggression, adolescent together with Bolean operators AND, OR. The results of the study included 989 manuscripts, of which 81.2% were original empirical articles. The United States is the main country with the highest scientific production (41.7%) and the one with the greatest collaboration with European countries (...

Amicoumacin A (Ami) halts bacterial growth by inhibiting the ribosome during translation. The Ami binding site locates in the vicinity of the E-site codon of mRNA. However, Ami does not clash with mRNA, rather stabilizes it, which is relatively unusual and implies a unique way of translation inhibition. In this work, we performed a kinetic and thermodynamic investigation of Ami influence on the main steps of polypeptide synthesis. We show that Ami reduces the rate of the functional canonical 70S initiation complex (IC) formation by 30-fold. Additionally, our results indicate that Ami promotes the formation of erroneous 30S ICs; however, IF3 prevents them from progressing towards translation initiation. During early elongation steps, Ami does not compromise EF-Tu-dependent A-site binding or peptide bond formation. On the other hand, Ami reduces the rate of peptidyl-tRNA movement from the ...
