La presente investigación busca analizar qué tipos de interacción surgieron entre las ONG feministas Centro de la Mujer Peruana Flora Tristán, el Movimiento Manuela Ramos y el Estado –con respecto a los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de las mujeres en el Perú– durante su participación en la Mesa Tripartita de Seguimiento de la Conferencia de Población y Desarrollo, El Cairo (CIPD), que tuvo lugar entre los años 1997-2000. Dicha Mesa, instaurada durante el segundo gobierno de Alberto Fujimori, estuvo constituida, además, por representantes de la Cooperación Internacional y la Academia.

In the late nineteenth century, Peru began a process of political stabilization, which was based on an alliance between the coastal oligarchy and the Andean gamonales. The latter would retain control of indigenous masses in exchange for enjoying a position of power in Parliament and having jurisdiction, viathe provincial and local governments, over matters of education and health. However, as discussed in this article, in the early twentieth century, a faction of the Partido Civil sought to restore administrative centralization in order to make its educational project more feasible. This new proposal challenged the interests of regional elites, who saw a threat to their positions of power, as well as other factions of the Partido Civil.

Informa sobre las condiciones económicas y la política social de la República Federal Alemana desde 1949 hasta 1955. El autor considera oportuno que el argumento del artículo, sobre la reorganización de la seguridad social en Alemania Occidental, no fuera considerado en forma independiente sino dentro del cuadro general de la postguerra. The article surveys the study of Latin American business politics, focusing on three main areas: The structure of business, the preferences of business, and its power in the political process. The structure of businesses in Latin America is distinct, with a larger share of small and informal firms, comparatively small large firms, and a dominant role of multinational corporations (MNCs) and economic groups. We argue that these structures are reflected in business preferences. MNCs’ preferences depend on their strategic orientation, whether they invest in Latin America in order to gain access to resources, to new markets, or to enhance their global productivity. Business groups are often particularly strong in non-competitive industries – resources, oligopolistic non-tradables etc. - and are highly flexible due to hierarchical management and large cash reserves.
