Nowadays, some of the most popular tools for parallel programming are Message Passing Interface and Open Multi-Processing. It is of interest to compare these tools in solving the same kind of problems, because of the use of different approaches to inter-task communication. This work attempts to contribute to this goal by running trials in a centralized shared memory architecture in the case of problems with an entirely parallel solution. The selected case study was the parallel computation of Mandelbrot set. Trials were conducted for different iteration limits, processors amount, and C++ implementation variants. The results show better performance in the case of Open Multi-Processing.

Para estimar el impacto de los terremotos en áreas urbanas, los investigadores convencionalmente utilizan modelos simplificados de estructuras urbanas para simulaciones. El presente informe busca analizar la legalidad de los pactos paralelos celebrados por las distribuidoras eléctricas, en el contexto de la suscripción de contratos bilaterales para la adquisición de energía para abastecer a la demanda regulada. La controversia principal se centra en dilucidar si los montos pactados en contratos paralelos contravienen al incentivo incorporado en el artículo 29 de la Ley N 28832 y el TUO de la Norma Precios a Nivel Generación y Mecanismo de Compensación entre Usuarios. The average growth of Peru GDP reached 6 per cent during the 2001-2007 period. However this growth was not in parallel with the microeconomic wellbeing. During this years, the poverty rate decreased 2.7 percentage points in contrast the GDP growth of 27.5 percentage points. As a consequence, searching for high economic growth rates is not enough for reaching a significant decrease of poverty and inequality. In this sense, an effective way might be the promotion of wealth growth initiatives in specific regions with high potential. In order to get a real impact in the poverty reduction it is necessary to change the institutional framework which foster a better environment for the private investment. The object of this research work is one of the three great traditional genres of Japanese theatre, the Bunraku puppet theatre. Throughout this research, it is presented how and where the puppet theatre emerged in Japan, and the reasons why its structure changed substantially in the 18th century are observed. The circumstances surrounding the change of the name of this theatrical genre in the 19th century are also analyzed. As among scholars this theatrical genre is considered one of the sources of the Kabuki theatre, in this article the parallel development during the 17th and 18th centuries of the Bunraku puppet theatre and the Kabuki theatre, in which human performers are involved, is observed. The daily electric demand in Peruvian National Interconnected System-SEIN- has very particular trend, seasonality and characteristics external effects, a situation that complicates the process of estimating the short-term forecast. The aim of this paper is to formulate and calculate ARIMA models with External Events Analysis to achieve efficient forecasts of electricity demand each day, at total level and broken down by areas of the SEIN.
