Nowadays, some of the most popular tools for parallel programming are Message Passing Interface and Open Multi-Processing. It is of interest to compare these tools in solving the same kind of problems, because of the use of different approaches to inter-task communication. This work attempts to contribute to this goal by running trials in a centralized shared memory architecture in the case of problems with an entirely parallel solution. The selected case study was the parallel computation of Mandelbrot set. Trials were conducted for different iteration limits, processors amount, and C++ implementation variants. The results show better performance in the case of Open Multi-Processing.

En esta tesis construiremos un algoritmo de descomposición asociado a un problema de optimización convexa separable con restricciones lineales, en particular lo aplicaremos a problemas de programación lineal. Este algoritmo aprovecha la estructura separable de la función objetivo del problema original considerando en cada iteración subproblemas de optimización para cada componente de la función objetivo, siendo estas de menor tamaño que el problema original e independientes entre sí, lo cual permite resolverlos de forma paralela, disminuyendo el costo computacional.

Después de un considerable esfuerzo, en la actualidad, se ha desarrollado un considerable esfuerzo para desarrollar algoritmos que comparan las secuencias de macromoléculas biológicas, cuyo objetivo es detectar las relaciones evolutivas tanto estructurales como funcionales. El alineamiento múltiple es el que aporta mayor información biológica, el algoritmo centro estrella que en su proceso usa el alineamiento de pares de Needleman-Wunsch determina el alineamiento óptimo de varias secuencias. The purpose of the present study was to elaborate and apply a strategy based on the resolution of problems in the achievement of learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometrical figures in students of third grade of primary level, curricular area of mathematics. For the application of the strategy a learning session was elaborated in which the empirical modeling and systemic methods were applied. In the foundation we worked with the analytical - synthetic, inductive - deductive and comparative theoretical methods. The execution took into account the techniques of the exhibition, the team work, the collaborative work. In the evaluation, the techniques of hetero-evaluation, co-evaluation and self-evaluation were applied. After the conclusion of the session, it was concluded that the students achieved the learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometric figures.

El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es dar a conocer que las matrices y los sistemas de ecuaciones lineales es un campo de estudio del Álgebra Lineal, curso que se imparte en la universidad a todos aquellos que estudian educación matemática, ciencias e ingeniería. Lo que originó el estudio de las matrices fue encontrar la solución a un sistema de ecuaciones lineales que, a su vez, dio como consecuencia al planteo en su forma matricial, esto motivó al estudio de las propiedades de las matrices. Antecedentes: El estrés relacionado con el trabajo es muy frecuente entre los empleados y es un problema por sus repercusiones en la salud y productividad de los trabajadores. Si bien hay escasas publicaciones al respecto, las intervenciones basadas en la web ofrecen soluciones eficaces a gran escala. Entre las intervenciones para reducir el estrés se encuentran las terapias cognitivo-conductuales; y dentro de estas la Terapia de solución de problemas (TSP). Objetivo: Evaluar el efecto de la TSP ofrecida a través de una plataforma web, sobre el nivel de estrés percibido de trabajadores administrativos. The Great Recession is the manifestation of some fundamental problems in the real sector of the global economy, related basically to the loss of competitiveness of the U.S. and other central economies, reflected in continuous external disequilibria in the form of parallel current account deficits and financial account surpluses. Domestic monetary and fiscal (or domestic adjustment) policies have not reached a solution to the problem because we are now dealing with a global problem that requires multilateral solutions seeking to adjust some fundamental relative prices and the closing of some key structural imbalances in order to make a sustainable recovery possible. Besides, the difficulties in finding and engineering a solution show the need to reassess the theoretical paradigms underlying the economic policies that preceded the current crisis (e.g., supply-side economics).
