This article aims to analyze the socio-critical paradigm in its relationship with scientific research, which is why the paradigm is previously defined as the representation of the commitment of the members of a scientific community with a way of exercising or guiding scientific practice. Likewise, it seeks to conceptualize the socio-critical paradigm, which is based on social criticism with a tendency to self-reflection, understanding that knowledge is built on the basis of concerns that arise from the needs of certain social groups (Maldonado, 2018), where Unlike the positivist paradigm, the researcher is no longer just an observer to become a generator of change that facilitates social transformations. On the other hand, the origins, position of authors, characteristics, principles and applications in different specialties are analyzed. Finally, the conclusions seek to reflect on the a...

In many ways, the COVID-19 pandemic has compromised the development of the nations, configured a number of restrictions to the fundamental rights and radically changed the lives of human beings in several negative aspects. However, there are also aspects that, as a result of the virus, are being redirected and that pose major challenges for the Judiciaries. Hence, it may be argued that these are new paradigms that allow us to rethink the judicial work and assume a relevant role in the digital transformation of the work of judges. Aspects, such as virtual hearings, the demand for investment in technology and a new approach in the role of judges to increase their use of artificial intelligence tools, imply important changes both in the present and in the years to come, and at the same time become paradigms with a view to improving the new tasks of judges.

The agricultural revolution is the first major event held by men, eight thousand years before the present, in five centers of domestication and adjacent areas, located in the Middle East, India, China, Mesoamerica and the Central Andes. The domestication of plants and animals, caused substantial changes in the behavior of sedentary societies, the new economy and technology innovation brought with major social and political transformations. The food producing economy profoundly changed human mentality. In every village, in every village, surplus production led to the emergence of specialists and complexity of society as a whole. How happened? Many specialists study the causes of great transformation, some refer to as the «broad spectrum revolution»; others claim it is the result of awareness of the benefits provided by the insurance resources; however, others consider as evidence of liv...

The objective was to describe a paradigm of transformation of biomonitors to the quality of bioecotoximonitors in aquatic ecotoxicology. The limitations of physico-chemical and microbiological parameters in environmental decision making to recognize the quality of aquatic ecosystems are discussed. The restriction of physical-chemical and microbiological parameters allowed the use of biological indicators to be considered as a bioassessment method. However, their presence or absence also means a disadvantage in the correlation with undesired exposures or intra-seasonal comparison. Therefore, biomonitors emerge that offer various interpretative possibilities. However, implicit in the concept of biomonitors is the assessment of quality at any time and period. A consequence of poor water quality is the presence of certain parasites as indicator organisms that can infect the biomonitors thems...

Paradigms, understood as perspectives, are decisive in shaping scientific activity. In this sense, one of the main reasons for the lack of intellectual institutionalization of the field of communication (Peters, 2007; Lacasa, 2017) may be the absence of disciplinary memory (Pooley, 2020) and of discussion of research perspectives. It is necessary to contribute to fill the epistemological vacuum of a field that is emerging as very relevant in the coming decades, being needed from a communicative perspective intended to generate more democratic environments. In a line of inquiry located within the confluence of meta-research and history of communication research, which we name meta-research of ideas (Gómez-Diago, 2020, 2021.a, 2021.b), through a review of reference works published in the last five decades which address the role of paradigms in communication research, several typologies of...

This article analyzes the process of paradigm change in Law, a non-peaceful transition from a model developed in the XX century to a new law which will sit throughout the XXI century. The changes that have occurred from this new legal paradigm are not superficial, but rather crossing the structures and foundations of modern legal ideology and technique that underlies, as the constitutionalization of national law, the internationalization of economic relations, the development of treaties or development of Community law. Furthermore, the author refers to the impact that this change took place in the theoretical construction of taxes and the delimitation of the scope of the tax phenomenon.

Blockchain (BC) technology combines cryptography, asymmetric mathematics, open-source software, peerto-peer computer networks, consensus algorithms, and incentive mechanisms that allow users to reach agreement on the state of a shared ledger. To understand the transformational scope of BC technology, founding principles and the solution to the economic problem of trust are used. It is discussed that BC economics can be understood beyond the analysis of a general-purpose technology, since it can also be understood as an evolutionary instance of “metainstitutional” technology. This essay presents reflections based on a technologicalinstitutional perspective that is derived from several contributions to the literature of various authors who write about different perspectives and types of technology regarding BC. These reflections are carried out, in part, by conceptualizing and exemplif...

The purpose of this article is to address the transformations in the valued attributes of workers, through the analysis of policies based on labor competencies. The hypothesis is that the competences paradigm facilitates the implementation of individualized work management models, in which soft skills take relevance. These management modalities displace unions from participating in the definition of valued attributes. We will use a qualitative methodology. The data sources were documents from national and international organizations in charge of implementing labor competencies policies in Argentina, and collective labor agreements in the automotive sector. In addition, in-depth interviews were used with workers and group leaders from a Japanese automotive terminal.
