Despite the benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM), some challenges to implementing it have appeared due to traditional project management, especially in the construction of complex projects. This article presents the challenges to applying ISO 19650:2018 Parts 1 and 2 in public hospital projects in Peru. These challenges were identified through 28 interviews with owners, designers, contractors, suppliers, operators, and final users (doctors and nurses) and complemented by a literature review. The identified challenges were divided into the budget, legal framework, organizational culture, and personnel. The results suggest that the adversities identified in the four groups should be overcome to implement BIM according to the ISO 19650 guidelines. Therefore, recommendations are presented to facilitate the ISO 19650 implementation in public hospital projects.

This paper follows the political life of documents produced in relation to a World Bank-funded road engineering technical study in the Peruvian Andes. By contrast with Weber’s emphasis on documents as instruments of rationalisation and transparency, and the more recent focus on documents as aesthetic artefacts and instances of institutional form, I attend to the ambiguous political processes enacted through document flows. I suggest that the ways in which project documents circulated, accumulating multiple connotations as they travelled, generated not clarity, but rather increasing indeterminacy, arguing that their political quality had to do precisely with their dual character, calling up at once normativity (and its promise of justice and order) and the play of unscrupulous «interests». This study carries out an analysis of progress and improvements in investment in projects in the public sector of Peru between the years 2001 and 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of occupational health and safety variables on the work performance of personnel at the Proyecto Especial Tacna (Tacna Special Project), a Peruvian public institution, during the COVID-19 pandemic. To carry out the study, a quantitative, descriptive, and correlational non-experimental design was used with a census sample, a questionnaire was applied to 42 workers in the months from July to August 2022. Public infrastructure projects in Peru face structural challenges in supply chain management, resulting in delays, cost overruns, and quality deficiencies. This study examined the extent to which supply chain resilience influences project effectiveness regarding time, cost, and quality standards. A quantitative, correlational–explanatory, non-experimental design was adopted, using surveys administered to professionals engaged in public works management. Statistical analysis included Pearson correlation, linear regression, Chi-square, ANOVA, and logistic regression.
