This editorial provides a historical review regarding the trade association as one of the most relevant elements of modern dental practice and supports the importance of contemporary dental schools in the development and advancement of the dental profession. The term union is defined as a group of people who have the same trade or profession and associate to order it, defend it, and share experiences. This word involves all the individuals who work in the same professional branch, which contrasts with the concept of union, which implies a voluntary meeting of a group of these.

This paper aims to bring us closer to a simple and understandable reading of the need to approach the Christological theme, faith in the divinity of Jesus, from the historical perspective and the human experience. The starting point is the conviction that Christology can be better understood if the divinity of Jesus is read from history and not from history. If it is affected by the human experience of those who knew him and discovered his divinity in life itself. Likewise, in this way we move away from the twisted positions that today continue to affirm that historical experience is not necessary, thus leaving us a very distant and abstract Jesus Christ, who is little understandable and as little credible for our times.

Amniotic fluid embolism (hereafter, AFE) is a uniformly devastating event that is both unpredictable and unpreventable. Despite having been first described nearly 80 years ago, it remains a significant cause of maternal mortality worldwide. AFE is characterized by the triad of sudden hypoxia and hypotension, followed in most cases by coagulopathy. The diagnosis of AFE is clinical and prompt recognition and multi-disciplinary intervention essential. This paper seeks to review the history, pathophysiology, potential risk factors, strategies for identification and management, and outcomes of this unfortunate and storied obstetric emergency.

This article reviews the processes of consolidation of the principle of legality and of the criminalisation of crimes against humanity in international criminal law from a historical perspective. It starts with the Nuremberg Tribunal of 1945 and then traces the development of these two processes side-by-side: the enshrinement of the principle of legality in a series of universal treaties protecting human rights between the 1960s and the 1980s and the criminalisation of crimes against humanity in the Statutes for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda and in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

This essay is a review of the main activities carried out by the Peruvian American Medical Society (PAMS) in terms of health cooperation in Peru. In the last 48 years, PAMS activities have been evolving, going from assistance through medical missions, to capacity transfer and strengthening of Medical Education in Peru. Likewise, PAMS has demonstrated the capacity to provide support in contingency situations, such as the latest activities in support of the country during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The lessons learned from this cooperative experience are analyzed, recognizing future possibilities that may contribute to the strengthening of the Peruvian Health System.

During Peru’s colonial period, free and enslaved peoples of African descent not only made up a significant portion of the coastal population, but could be found living and working throughout the entire Andean region. Yet these populations have been underrepresented in archaeology or rendered invisible by methodologies and questions which have not directly engaged this diaspora. This article advocates for the development of an interdisciplinary examination of the history and material culture of the African diaspora to Peru which emphasizes the potential for the contributions of archaeology. The present investigation carries out a historical and conceptual review of the Law and Literature Movement in its AngloSaxon origins. For this, the main contributions of the representatives who appeared as central figures are enunciated and described, as well as the pioneering works that stood out in the three great moments of said studies, from the first inquiries to the theoretical proposals developed within the European universities and AngloAmerican. On the other hand, it explores the academic debate that took place around the relations between law and literature during the second half of the 20th century and examines the central aspects of the primary intersections known as: Law in Literature, Law as Literature and Law of Literature.

In the present paper an analysis of the epistemological foundations on which the educational field has been founded since its origin until today is made, in order to understand in depth the current situation of educational research. To this end, a historical-epistemological study is carried out. This study seeks to uncover the justification that, in each moment and context, has founded the said field. This path shows that, at first, historicity (referred to the contextual, non-rational, non-scientific) was deliberately set aside to guarantee the development of a rational science. For the historical evaluation it has taken in one counts the production of knowledges of the social sciences and for the psychological evaluation a scale of attitudes was doing the life that measures resentment. In this lecture the author describes some tensions produced by religious fundamentalisms and the discourse of human rights and democracy. Six difficulties are explained as samples of current troubles disturbing especially religious women’s situation: equality, participation and sexual and reproductive rights are highlighted. In brief, from modern perspectives also the positive role of religions is deemed as well as its involvement in the universal impact of human rights.
