This research applies complexity theory to explain the formation process of complex strategies. A systematic literature review was carried out to identify the state of the art and it was observed that the theoretical framework of the theory is dispersed. In this context, the local behavior scheme, unpredictability, self-organization, emergent order and evolution on the edge of chaos were identified as the most representative constructs of the theory. Based on these concepts, it was concluded that managers have a fundamental role in leading organizations; that strategies must promote experimentation, improvisation, trial and error; and that they must be constantly updated based on changes in the environment. Finally, a conceptual model of the complex strategy formation process is developed and a set of practical recommendations is provided.

Research in organizational management faces the challenge of understanding, building and disseminating knowledge about a study object that presents itself as something subjective, difficult and complex to handle: the organizations or a group of them. In this situation, the case study as a research strategy of social phenomena is seen as a relevant option for the researcher, in a context in which the use of intensive over extensive strategies improves the quality of the understanding of this phenomenon in relation to the context in which it occurs. In this perspective, this paper seeks to provide a clearer view of the case study research on organizational management through a review of the literature on the subject and the authors’ own experience on this topic, so that questions about the use, opportunity and feasibility of this strategy will be answered.

Competencies in math and science should be developed in teachers to exemplify students. For example, the archaeological complex of Raqchi or temple of the God Weracocha are ruins of the Inca culture. The objective was to find how many inhabitants the Inca citadel of Raqchi housed with mathematical competence, solve problems of quantity and science, investigate through scientific methods in secondary education teachers. The study was qualitative, with a content review and analysis methodology; four teachers from the Canas and Canchis Local Educational Management Unit were formed who solved the problem from virtual collegiate meetings. The result of the first group indicates 7538 inhabitants based on the number of Qolcas and the function of the work camp. The second concerning its military role mentions 5308 inhabitants, and the third on the hypothesis of an Inca temple indicates 291 inhab...

Research and development (R&D) is crucial for promoting knowledge generation as well as the acquisition of new knowledge, so as to enable the development of new products, processes, or services, and improve the existing ones. In this vein, countries make decisions to increase and sustain their innovation efforts and focus on public R&D expenditures. This paper seeks to analyse the pathways of national R&D systems of OECD countries. For this purpose, we conducted a descriptive and exploratory analysis for the period of 2000-2021. We used innovative effort variables, such as R&D intensity, as well as patents as an output variable. The sample consisted of 37 OECD countries, divided into five quintiles according to productivity performance during the study period. The results highlight cases of R&D systems that made a significant leap in productivity during the study peri...

The new socio-cultural scenario produced by immigration in schools implies a complex process of psychosocial adjustment. National students must also face diverse and new challenges as a result of immigration, which are linked to the perception and management of cultural differences. This paper aims to identify acculturative profiles in a sample (N = 426) of Chilean secondary school students. Cluster analysis allowed us to find a solution of three acculturative profiles (Tolerant Individualist, Undifferentiated Individualist and Undifferentiated Ethnocentric). Results show that these profiles differ in their levels of Affective Prejudice, Cultural Self-efficacy, and Well-being. These findings stress the importance of promoting social environments which could improve positive intergroup contact to enable the development of intercultural competence from early stages of life.
