In recent decades our country has been acquiring a certain global touch that has allowed it to grow and expand economically, however, it is not quite right when we look back and observe that growth has also brought with it patterns of "modern countries" that distort realities and that far from contributing to the strengthening of families, the integral education of children and the climate of social respect, generate confusion between budgets essential for social welfare, such as biology and culture, respect and discrimination; these patterns are included in what we will call "Gender Approach", socially extended thinking that currently aims to impose itself. Through a radical conception of the term gender, which seeks the antagonism between sex and gender to nullify the presence of the biological, personal and family visa data.

The analysis of binary conceptual systems includes "man and woman" as paradigms of opposite categories. In many cultures, the use of the categories "woman and man", to facilitate thinking, seems to be part of an ordering system in which women are placed on the less valued and inferred side of the opposition. Thus, some authors have suggested that women are to men, what nature is to culture. Others have drawn attention to the way in which the left or right hand is used to express gender differences, in the words of Evans Pritchard, "a slight organic asymmetry becomes a symbol of an absolute moral polarity" (1973).

Chirikyacu, Chunchiwi, and Chirik Sacha, located in the San Martin region (Peru), are indigenous communities affiliated with the National Program of Forest Conservation for Climate Change Mitigation. The three communities approved the implementation of the Conditional Direct Transfer Mechanism (TDC, acronym in Spanish) as a financial tool for primary forest conservation. This research characterizes the participation of the beneficiaries from the type of involvement and participation size along the TDC execution, identifying drivers that facilitate and limit the participation of the beneficiaries’ minority.Minorities, as in any society, have access to fewer opportunities. In the three communities, I found larger minority groups (such as women) than others with less population (such as monolingual), as well as gender norms accepted in the communities, which limit the minority groups from...

This article uses ethnography to explore some of the ways in which religion and sexual diversity intersect in contemporary society. It studies the case of the so-called “rainbow communities” in Spain: groups of Christian lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and trans individuals (LGBT+) who organize themselves to live these identities complementarily against the frequent oppositional understandings. The research analyzes data collected during continuous fieldwork with these communities from 2019 to 2023, and through a systematic review of archives. First, it traces the historical path of these communities, situating their development within broader processes of religious transformation, activist progress, and the social and legal recognition of diversity. Second, it assesses how they impact on the Christian field by offering a pastoral care model based on pluralism that addresses the populatio...

The present paper is an approach to the construction, development and dissemination of gender roles (male and female) from the publicity established in Lima. This self-critical look at the advertising profession rather than blame wishes to describe a reality often ignored or filtered by various factors. It also proposes ways to deal with this problem facing its principal actors: Advertising, customers and especially teachers and students from different universities and institutes that apparently do not regard this as an important part of the training provided to new generations favoring perpetuation of stereotypical gender roles. For this article we have resorted to bibliographic research, analysis of advertisements and interviews with professionals who can provide different and complementary perspectives in order to understand this reality, seek consensus and pathways to a new approach ...

This article analyzes gender-segregated spaces in metro systems as a response to sexual harassment in public transport. Based on a comparative study structured across five dimensions (operational design, governance and enforcement, complementary measures, reported outcomes, and controversies), it reviews five international cases (Mexico City, Tokyo, Dubai, Cairo, and Rio de Janeiro) together with a baseline analysis for Lima, with the aim of identifying achievements, limitations, and transferability conditions. The findings show that women-only cars consistently increase users perceived safety and comfort, and, in high-demand contexts, may support longer and more continuous trips. However, their structural effectiveness is limited: harassment persists in micro-spaces of the journey (station entrances, platforms, transfer corridors), reporting rates remain low, and suboptimal operational ...

This article presents research describing gender roles offered to boys and girls from Christmas toy advertising through broadcast television in Lima. These messages provide content that lead to the adoption of stereotypical gender roles from an early age, which are perpetuated throughout life. This article has been worked on a multidisciplinary approach and from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.

This work was carried out with the indigenous communities of the Mirití-Paraná river, a short tributary of the Caquetá (Japura) river, located northwest of Colombia’s Amazon basin. I set forth the therapeutic journey of Enio Yukuna, an old man who had a traffic accident and, when telling the story of what happened, recalled that his misfortune began some decades ago when he went tapir hunting in a clay lick. His story and journey are relevant because he talks about how he conceives the land, cosmopolitics, the ontological processes to learn shamanism, and of the interaction of biomedicine and the Western medical system. In doing so, he speaks explicitly of the typical healing processes that take place in his region, going through shamans of different ethnic groups and varied knowledge that behave in different ways vis-a-vis his afliction. He also talks about gender comple...

It is common for media messages to show the family since the crisis that this institution is experiencing. It is often conceived not as the place where the person is loved on his own, but as the "power struggles" between his members, especially between woman and man. With the documentary method - bibliographic study - of the conceptual analysis, this paper seeks to clarify some essential elements of the relationships within the family -in order to contribute to a better communication of the family reality- specifically those related to woman and man. From the systemic -non-analytical- methodical proposal of Leonardo Polo, it is proposed that there are three characteristics of this relationship -reciprocity, complementarity, co-responsibility- that have to be studied in their mutual internal connection to understand intrafamily dynamism. In this way it is possible to communicate effective...

In recent decades, disciplinary studies on political science in Latin America have expanded rapidly. However, national case studies still predominate, and comparative analyses have only begun to emerge. The Peruvian case has received little attention in this literature and is rarely included in comparative studies, despite the discipline undergoing significant transformations in recent decades in this country. This article aims to fill this gap by providing an overview of the development and current state of political science in Peru from a comparative perspective, to situate it more precisely on the Latin American map while highlighting its particularities and challenges. After reviewing existing findings and offering a critical balance of prior research focused on political science in Peru, the article situates the case comparatively, exploring similarities and differences with other c...
