Congenital chylotorax is a rare anomaly associated with high perinatal mortality when accompanied by hydrops fetalis. Thoracentesis and pleuroamniotic shunting have proven to be alternative successful options for antenatal treatment, but there is still controversy on which is first choice. In Peru there are no reports of similar cases treated in utero. We report a case of a 37½ weeks pregnancy affected with massive lateonset congenital chylotorax successfully treated by intrauterine thoracentesis. Adequate lung expansion was achieved, allowing the birth of a baby who did not present respiratory failure and did not require subsequent ventilatory support. This paper shows intrauterine thoracentesis is a viable treatment option for similar cases in Peru.

It has presented two cases of endometrial sarcoma so far not been reported among us, to our knowledge. The histological picture of our cases is common to both. We believe this is a cancer that originates in endometrial stromal cells and malignant consider of its invasive and metastatic capacity. We consider appropriate the term Endometrial Sarcoma because it expresses the malignant nature of the lesion, its histogenesis and place of origin. We wish to draw attention to this entity with histologic features and very private clinics, separating adenomyosis and uterine stromal sarcoma no origin, for better recognition by the pathologist and institution of appropriate therapy.

Mr. Editor: We read with interest the article "Barriers to safe abortion under Peruvian law" published in the latest issue of its magazine (1). The article is in English version in Scielo-Peru, and in Spanish and English on the website of the magazine. In this regard we analyze the version published in English and found a translation error in two paragraphs that change the meaning of the statement in the article, and suggest the commission of crimes in public hospitals in Peru. Introduction: 395 confirmed cases of new influenza A (H1N1) cases and 15 deaths were reported in the Cusco Region during 2009. The case fatality rate of 3.8%, was well above national and international reports, becoming serious public health problem. Objective: To determine the risk factors associated with mortality novel influenza A (H1N1). Based on the analysis of Alicorps’ official statement regarding the renaming of their commercial brand Negrita, this article suggests delving into the reasons why brands have begun to take political stands through their discourse and actions, and how this decisions have an impact on the commercial and manufacturers’ brand equity as well as their consumers. Albeit interest regarding role portrayals in advertising is not a new issue, “¿is it possible that brands and advertising have embraced a new role as social actors?, “¿are societal changes so powerful that they call for a brand to take a political stand towards them?” Through on the outcome of these questions, and through this cases’ discussion, this study seeks to explore the roots and consequences of this new brand positioning.

La pandemia a causa del COVID-19 ha traído muchos cuestionamientos para las organizaciones de la salud. Denuncias por cobros excesivos, garantías para internar a los pacientes con tarifas desmesuradas y costos por medicamentos para el tratamiento contra el coronavirus inflados del valor original, han sido algunas de las declaraciones de los afectados. Este es el caso del Centro Médico Hospitalario San Pedro, quien ante esta situación, tuvo como respuesta emitir un comunicado dirigido solo para los medios de comunicación y fue calificado como poco empático y frío por la opinión pública. En el presente trabajo, hemos desarrollado un plan de comunicación con 3 objetivos principales, de los cuales se desprenden acciones que tienen como objetivo cumplir las necesidades latentes de la organización.

Objetivo: analizar los errores de prescripción en las recetas de la cadena Boticas Hogar y Salud de Villa Norte 2, Los Olivos enero – mayo 2023. Material y método: estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental, es de corte transversal y retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo conformada por 204 recetas médicas, seleccionadas mediante un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Resultados: se encontró diferentes errores en la prescripción, en datos del prescriptor el número de colegiatura 22.5% y menos frecuente la firma 17.2%, en datos del paciente la edad 67,6%, y el menos frecuente fue historia clínica 6,4%, en datos del medicamento la vía de administración 76,0%, el menos frecuente fue dosis 15.2% y en otros datos de la receta letra legible 30.9%.Se observo que las recetas presentaron un total de 5 errores en la mayoría de los casos referente a los 21 indicado...

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene por finalidad demostrar la eficiencia del servicio de telecomunicaciones en los casos de emergencia, ya que nuestro país por su ubicación geográfica se encuentra expuesto a padecer desastres naturales que afectarían a los ciudadanos con pérdidas humanas y económicas, para ello una forma de salvaguardar a la población es contando con un sistema de telecomunicaciones de calidad que brinde información antes de la emergencia, que mantenga comunicados a los damnificados durante el desastre y no se pierda el servicio después del acontecimiento. Analizaremos el cumplimiento del Decreto Supremo 051-2010-MTC (Marco normativo general del sistema de comunicaciones en emergencia) y la normativa internacional en la materia.

The aim of this prospective study was to demostrate that frequency of extrapulmonary tuberculosis at Daniel A. Carrión Hospital is higher than the one reported in the literature. We reviewed The Tuberculosis Control Program Registry and in-patient records from January 1990 to December 1995 . Patients with HIV co-infection were excluded. We fomad 3,304 cases of tuberculosis, 2,301 pulmonaryTBC (69.65%) and 1,003 extrapulmonary cases. Among extrapulmonary TBC, 629 (62.71%) were males and 374 (37.29%) to females.The most important sites were pleural (48.75%), lymphmodal (14.86%) and meningoencephalic (7.68%). We conclude that extrapulmonary TBC at HNDAC is higher than that reported in the national and foreign literature even without HIV co-infection. Prospective reports will be very important to evaluate the final evolution of this group of patients.
