This research explores, through a pre-experimental design, how artistic resources can contribute to health prevention. For this purpose, participants (N = 118) completed a pre-test questionnaire and, after interacting with four testimonial narratives in the COVID-19 Diaries website, specially developed for this research, responded to the post-test. The study investigated the role of art in prevention intention, risk perception, and behavior, as well as the association with narrative transportation and identification with characters, the two main mechanisms explaining narrative persuasion. The results demonstrated the importance of including artistic resources in health narratives and the mediating role of narrative transportation and identification with characters in risk perception during health crises. These findings are of theoretical and methodological importance for understanding th...

Significant advances in computing, telecommunications, and the internet have driven social, economic, and political progress, leading to a paradigm shift: from common crime to cybercrime. Cybercriminal activity has expanded globally, giving rise to new forms of illicit conduct and criminal activity online. This phenomenon has spread worldwide, resulting in punishable actions in cyberspace, committed through social networks, digital media, online environments, and mobile or technological devices. Consequently, legislators have had to restructure and adopt regulatory tools to prevent such crimes. Cyberspace lacks borders and legal regulations, which gives cybercriminals an advantage due to high complexity, anonymity, lack of evidence, and procedural legislation regarding electronic evidence. Currently, the role of the Public Prosecutor faces numerous challenges in the justice system, makin...

In Chile, influential public figures are increasingly using the media to accuse social networks of being a danger to democracy and to characterize their users as intolerant and destructive. This essay defines that behavior, known as trolling, by delimiting its constitutive characteristics in order to situate the phenomenon as a political practice independent of an alleged trolling agenda, a particular subculture, a historical context or a specific technology. To give an account of the historical ubiquity of trolling, we used a journalistic text by Karl Marx. Based on Rancière’s (2006) conceptualization of politics and Fraser’s (1999) critique of Habermas, we maintain that the function of trolling is to give shape to an attempt to modify the distribution of what is sensitive by imposing new oppositions of terms, displacing or undermining the framework of a discourse. In this sense, t...

Introduction: the difficulties to regulate emotions in evaluative settings, appear as high levels of anxiety towards tests and avoidance behaviors. Perfectionism traits and procrastinative behaviors, are associated with increasing emotional discomfort across the different steps of the learning/testing cycle. This review paper addresses the need to infuse intercultural learning in the language classroom. The body of literature offers evidence of language approaches and methods that can potentially benefit the foreign/second language classroom by shifting from traditional practice to more active, participatory, and interculturally infused teaching. Teaching a foreign/second language comprehensively requires the inclusion of the intercultural component to equip learners with the ability to interact in increasingly intercultural contexts. Therefore, this paper proposes a model to design language and intercultural tasks in the language classroom. The methodology applied in this paper is based on a qualitative approach by reviewing the literature to gather insights to facilitate an intercultural approach based on a hybrid pedagogy merging Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and Project...

The development of assertiveness and empathy in the school environment contributes to creating a positive atmosphere, preventing bullying, promoting socio-emotional development, and improving academic performance. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the level of assertiveness and empathy in aggressors and victims in school coexistence in primary education in an urban municipality in the province of Granada (Spain), with the aim of proposing an innovative teaching practice in response to this coexistence environment and improving the quality of education. The approach was quantitative, with a descriptive design. The sample consisted of 47 participants from the 6th grade, aged between 11 and 13 years (M = 11.43; SD = 0.50), to whom the Assertive Behavior Scale for Children (CABS) and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index were applied to measure assertiveness and empathy, resp...
