We analyzed a young man with a history of jaundice since childhood and cholelithiasis, who presented with abdominal pain, jaundice and splenomegaly. Initially, a diagnosis of dengue was considered, given the prevalence of this disease in the patient's geographic region. However, additional testing identified hereditary spherocytosis, a genetic hemolytic disorder. The importance of considering alternative diagnoses in the face of common symptoms in emergencies is emphasized. Initial dengue-oriented management was followed by targeted treatment for hereditary spherocytosis after the diagnosis was confirmed, resulting in significant improvement in the patient. This paper focus on implementation of communication strategies developed in the Rehabilitation of Potable Water and Sewerage Network Lote 3 project, executed between 2013 and 2014 in the district of Comas, north of Lima-Peru, and belonging to the Servicio de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Lima (SEDAPAL), company responsible for water and sewage in Lima. As a result, it could be observed that the implementation of a diagnosis of perceptions, the communication plan and the communication and education products allowed to facilitate the design of messages according to the context of the project, taking into account the speeches of the users against and in favor of the project, as well as the objectives sought by the executing company.

Acute placental uterine vascular insufficiency is a cause of adverse fetal outcome in fetuses with failure to reach their growth potential and are born at an appropriate weight for gestational age. Clinical case. A 24-year-old patient, 37 weeks gestational age, went to the National Maternal Perinatal Institute of Lima, Peru, for reporting little vaginal bleeding. In the clinical evaluation, a BP of 90/60 mmHg, uterine height 32 cm, fetal heartbeat was found in 152. Since its appearance in Europe, the trial by jury had to travel a long path until it became the official procedure to try criminal cases in the United States. Although it was not really created with that specific purpose, over the years it experienced memorable moments in which it was granted with the prestige and value required to be inserted in the Constitution of that country, as a safeguard against the arbitrariness of the governmental power. Today, however, the great importance that it had in the past has significantly decreased. The needs and practices of a system with a particularly high rate of convictions have relegated and transformed it into a real endangered specie. The following article describes and explains its birth and rise, as well as its subsequent virtual disappearance due to the not so efficient as dangerous guilty pleas.

Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare, benign chronic disease. Its etiology is not clear; however, the disease has been associated with breastfeeding, use of oral contraceptives, and an autoimmune component. The characteristic presentation is an inflammatory reaction with non-caseating granulomas. Histological features include signs of chronic granulomatous inflammation with giant cells, leukocytes, epithelioid cells, and macrophages, as well as microabscesses. In the differential diagnosis, all causes of granulomatous changes should be excluded. Due to its low frequency, the treatment is difficult to standardize and optimize. Catamenial pneumothorax is a rare and complex clinical condition that should be considered as a cause of spontaneous and recurrent pneumothorax that is often misdiagnosed. It is a pulmonary pathology commonly associated with menstruation since it occurs within 72 hours before or after the onset of menstrual bleeding. The etiology and the exact underlying mechanism have not been identified, but it could be a rare form of extra-pelvic endometriosis characterized by the presence of functional endometrial tissue in the pleura, pulmonary parenchyma, and respiratorytract. Diagnosis is a challenge, so it can result in recurrences. It should be suspected in young women of childbearing age. The first line of treatment is medical, while surgical treatment is necessary to avoid recurrence. A case of recurrent catamenial pneumothorax is presented.

The fetal intestinal tract can be altered by many disease processes, typical ultrasound findings of bowel obstruction are dilated bowel loops in the fetal abdomen proximal to the obstruction. Although intestine dilation occasionally can be seen, most bowel dilation cases are in the small intestine. Early diagnosis is possible for some sites proximal obstruction, such as duodenal and esophageal atresia. Of all the intestinal atresias 39% corresponds to the jejunum and ileum is the most common cause of congenital bowel obstruction and these only in the 50-60% ultrasound findings are given. The objective of this paper is to present and discuss how review the diagnosis, evaluation and perinatal outcome of a case of intestinal atresia and its differential diagnosis.
