The objective was to relate eating habits with the body mass index and physical activity of university students. 237 students from the National University Federico Villarreal and 163 students from the National University of Engineering were surveyed in 2022, using an online form whose items were distributed in demographic data to characterize the students and their eating behavior (EB). Th e Likert scale was used. Th e data was analyzed with Microsoft Offi ce Excel updated to 2023. It was found that the average Body Mass Index (BMI) of the students is 24.5, falling within the normal classifi cation, they tend to eat more foods prepared at home, the Nutritional quality is subject to accessibility due to time and money; they usually consume lunch, omitting other meals. The objective was to evaluate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the eating habits and physical activity of students from the Federico Villarreal National University. For this purpose, a structured multiple-choice questionnaire was distributed via WhatsApp and email, which was subdivided into the sections of Generalities, Physical Activity and Eating Habits (HA), and the data was processed with Excel Microsoft 365. 215 people were surveyed, it was determined that physical activity during social isolation (SA) changed from vigorous to sedentary, with men reducing their practice of exercises that required greater physical effort. Objectives: To compare body mass index (BMI) with body circumferences in 4 to 10 year-old Brazilian children. Design: Descriptive correlational type study. Setting: Universidad Estatal de Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Participants: Children 4 to 10 year-old. Interventions: We selected in a probabilistic (stratified) manner a total of 517 children both sexes, 256 boys and 261 girls. We evaluated anthropometric measurements of body weight (kg), height (cm), BMI [BMI = weight (kg)/height (m)2] and relaxed mean arm girth, thigh and calf (cm). Peru is the main producer of gold, zinc, lead, and tin in Latin America and the second largest producer of copper, silver, and zinc worldwide. Despite its economic importance, mining has also left a plethora of Mining Environmental Liabilities (MEL) whose inadequate waste management represents a risk for both the environment and human health and is a common trigger of social problems. Polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate (PRP) from Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is an active immunizing molecule used in the production of the vaccine against H. influenzae, and industrial production could contribute to satisfying a world demand especially in developing countries. In this sense, the aim of this study was to establish a scale-up process using the constant oxygen mass transfer coefficient (kLa) such as the criterion for production of PRP in three different sizes of bioreactor systems. Three different kLa values (24, 52 and 80 h−1) were evaluated in which the biological influence in a 1.5 L bioreactor and 52 h−1 was selected to scale-up the production process until a 75 L pilot-scale bioreactor was achieved. There are several reasons that explain why community and citizens’ media are so widespread and popular in Latin America. This chapter offers a series of short vignettes set in Colombia that describe the intricate processes that developed there since the 1920s and simultaneously elsewhere across Latin America, spreading the notion that agency and participation are everyone’s right. These vignettes highlight why understanding community and citizens’ media in Latin America requires recognizing the long history of radical politics in the region and the wide dissemination of leftist ideologies that popularized notions of popular participation and political agency as rights. The objective of this work was to quantify either physical and chemical attributes of the whole along with grounded seeds from Castilla pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata Duchesne) and bitter pumpkin (Apodanthera undulata A. Grey). The parameters data for whole seeds of both pumpkin varieties were; physical dimensions, internal friction, external friction and particle size, while for their ground compound were; electric conductivity, soluble protein, total protein, carbohydrates, oil concentration and main minerals. Este trabajo de suficiencia profesional está basado en una propuesta de mejora para aumentar el nivel de servicio en una empresa del sector de consumo masivo. Se obtuvo la data necesaria para analizar los principales motivos los cuales fueron la rotura de stock y el error en el pronóstico de ventas. Mediante la investigación de técnicas, herramientas y metodologías se planteó el modelo de mejora. Se seleccionaron cuatro skus de la categoría de cereales, los cuales presentaron mayor venta dentro del universo de productos para plasmar los resultados de la implementación. A través de la gestión por procesos, se mejoró el tiempo de traslado de mercadería entre la planta productiva hacia los almacenes, y se logró llegar al objetivo del indicador de eficacia de traslados (98%). El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo relacionar los factores de riesgo sobre la salud cardiovascular y el consumo de alimentos procesados en 270 usuarios de un mercado de Tablada de Lurín con edades entre 18 y 89 años varones y mujeres. Para ello, se seleccionó un método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico, nivel correlacional y diseño no experimental transversal; empleando un cuestionario de dos partes que buscan evaluar las variables señaladas y que fueron validados por un grupo de expertos. Los hallazgos indicaron que el consumo de alimentos procesados se relación con los factores: índice de masa corporal, presión sistólica, diastólica, circunferencia abdominal y estilo de vida saludable.
