The aim of the article to demonstrate the necessity of a critical view on the construct of «competence» because of semantic and epistemic gaps. The analysis of the historical evolution of «competence» clarifies its origin and meanings. The epistemological analysis identifies the principle of efficiency as the basis of competence and also of programming and organization of educational process, based on this approach. The result of this double analysis highlights the intrinsic limits of the educational approach by competencies putting it in question.

This paper analyzes the information treatment of the Mapuche people in the newspaper El Mercurio during two periods. First, between 1950 and 1973 (twentieth century); and second, during the years 2010, 2013 and 2014, (21st century). To this end, a corpus of 340 journalistic texts has been selected, of which 147 correspond to the 20th century (1950-1970) and 193, to the 21st century (2010, 2013-2014). The analysis shows that most of the frames are linked to conflicts, criminal prosecutions and arson attacks; so that El Mercurio prioritizes connotations and negative events to inform about the Mapuche indigenous people.

Este estudio explora la creación de problemas mediante la implementación de una estrategia de creación de problemas matemáticos que integra nociones del análisis didáctico y pretende contribuir a la formulación de problemas con énfasis didáctico para el aprendizaje y enseñanza en el entorno de las funciones cuadráticas. Para este propósito, se desarrolla talleres de creación de problemas con profesores en servicio, en los cuales se utiliza experiencias didácticas, elaboración de configuraciones epistémicas y cognitivas, y análisis de prácticas matemáticas; estas dos últimas herramientas son propias del enfoque ontosemiótico de la cognición e instrucción matemática (EOS). The present research work pursues to analyze the factors of the model of consumption values that influence healthy food purchase behavior in millennials residing in zone 6 and 7 of Metropolitan Lima. The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between students’ cognitive and self-regulatory strategies, academic engagement, and academic achievement in higher education, analyzing the mediating role of reading comprehension. Different tasks to assess the constructs were administered to 209 students (Mage = 21.71; SD = 4.36). The students' GPA was used as a measure of academic achievement. Significant associations were found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies, academic engagement, reading comprehension, and students' GPA. In addition, a positive association was found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement.
