There is a small number of studies that analyze the configuration of absorptive capacity in companies from emerging countries, such as Brazil. This study seeks to analyze the practices that small and medium-sized Brazilian technology-based companies apply to optimize knowledge flows and, consequently, take advantage of organizational innovations. With this objective, the research uses a qualitative approach to analyze data from a total of 11 technology-based companies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis. The main results indicate that absorptive capacity practices are determinants of organizational innovation, such as: adapting external knowledge to a new technology to create a new product; and the development of the capacity to apply internal and external knowledge in patents and/or innovative software products for ...

A digital image may contain objects that can be made up of multiple regions concerning different material properties, physical or chemical attributes. Thus, segmented simplicial meshes with non-manifold boundaries are generated to represent the partitioned regions. We focus on repairing non-manifold boundaries. Current methods modify the topology, geometry or both, using their own data structures. The problem of modifying the topology is that if the mesh has to be post-processed, for instance with the Delaunay refinement, the mesh becomes unsuitable. In this paper, we propose alternatives to repair non-manifold boundaries of segmented simplicial meshes, among them is the Delaunay based one, we use common data structures and only consider 2 and 3 dimensions. The following is a simple descriptive study, whose main objective is to determine the features in speech production in children aged 6 to 7 with a lingual frenulum alteration. To collect data we used the Tongue Frenulum Evaluation Protocol of Irene Marchesan and the systematic observation technique, in order to classify different lingual frenulum types, as well as identify the characteristics in the speech production to a population of 109 children aged 6 to 7 years of the school Liceo Naval Almirante Guise, in the district of San Borja.During this process a photographic and video recordwas carried out. The results of the study show that 88% of the studied population, presented a normal lingual frenulum and 12% (13 children) presented altered lingual frenulum. Objective: To determine the levels of proinflammatory cytokines around miniscrews with and without loading, used during orthodontic treatment. Material and Methods: A descriptive longitudinal study was executed with a sample of ten miniscrews inserted in patients that attended a dental clinic. Saliva and peri-implant crevicular fluid samples were taken: at baseline (T0), 24 hours after insertion (T1), 1 week after insertion (T2), 24 hours after loading (T3). The samples obtained were processed by immunoassay and read with a flow cytometer. Results: Data analysis was performed using the SPSS program version 21.0. To verify normal distribution, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used, followed by ANOVA to compare and determine statistical significance.
