Background: Heterotopic ossification (OH) is a complication described in patients with neurological damage. Case report: Patient who suffered a multiple trauma and traumatic brain injury (TBI), with fractures and neurological deficit secondary to TBI, who presented several heterotopic ossifications (OH) during his evolution that compromised the achievement of functional objectives. The main manifestation was swelling and limitation of the articular range (RA) for the extension of the left hip and knee, which kept the lower left limb (MI) flexed, preventing standing and walking. Introducción: La enfermedad oncológica cerebral de tipo estesioneuroblastoma es un tumor poco frecuente, pero con extensiones que pueden llegar hasta la base del cráneo y, en ocasiones, puede presentar metástasis a grandes distancias que comúnmente llegan hasta los pulmones. The paper analyzes the case of Adriana Smith, a pregnant woman who suffered brain death in Georgia, USA, and whose body was kept on life support to preserve the fetus despite her family’s opposition. From the perspective of Peruvian law, it examines the legal definition of death (irreversible cessation of brain activity) and the legal nature of the corpse as a sui generis object, protected by post-mortem rights derived from prior personality. It highlights that, in Peru, the unborn is recognized as a legal subject from conception, with special protection of life, constitutionally and legally acknowledged. The coexistence of hippocampal sclerosis with a potentially epileptogenic extra hippocampal injury is known as dual pathology, and presents a challenge to resection surgery strategies in cases of drug-resistant epilepsy. We present a case of drug-resistant focal epilepsy associated with dual pathology (left hippocampal sclerosis and left frontal gliosis), treated by means of direct cortical electrical stimulation and intraoperative electrocorticography with good short-term results.

Sagittal craniosynostosis is the premature closure of the sagittal suture, causing functional and structural alterations. The treatment is surgical, and there are currently various techniques, which require planning and training to achieve optimal results. We present the case of a 1-year-old male with abnormal anteroposterior growth of the skull, indicating brain tomography without contrast, showing sagittal synostosis. Surgical planning of the technique to be developed is carried out using a real-scale personalized 3D model. The patient progresses well and is discharged. Finally, essential 3D cloning technology for neurosurgical education and development allows access to high-precision, low-cost tactile models that improve the quality of craniosynostosis management.

Patients: Older than 65 years subjects. Interventions: In the Cercado de Lima district, 1 532 older than 65 years subjects randomly selected had brief neuropsychological evaluations including the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), drawing the Clock Test (PDR), and Pfeffer’s functional activities questionnaire (PFAQ). The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical approach to the notion of political counter-narrative. Given the novelty of this narrative technique, its causes are first addressed: moral absolutism, affective polarization, informational chaos, uncertainty, and digital tribalism. Then, the counter-narrative is defined as a semantic structure that, regardless of temporality, seeks to destroy the symbolic capital of the adversary.
