Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a neurodevelopmental disorder, whose prevalence has increased in recent years, showing in some cases deficits in the cognitive area, with processing speed (PS) being one of the affected variables. Therefore, the present study aims to: 1) compare the scores obtained in relation to the PS variable between students aged 6 to 11 with ASD and their peers with neurotypical development in Metropolitan Lima; and 2) establish the PS profile of the included students with ASD. This paper presents the results of a non-experimental cross-sectional study conducted under a mixed explanatory design (with manifest and latent variables), in an indigenous school in a rural area and an urban school in Morelos (Mexico). The sociodemographic context of the schools of origin was considered as a predictor variable of Mathematics achievement in 6th grade of primary school, and the educational level of the parents and family support were considered as mediating variables. El presente trabajo de investigación es de nivel exploratorio y tuvo como objetivo fundamental profundizar en la inteligencia emocional en el contexto de la pandemia del Covid-19 - 2021, conociendo su origen, proceso histórico y teorías que sustentan los autores fundamentalmente consultados: Daniel Goleman, reconocido por la teoría de la inteligencia emocional y Robert Gardné por la teoría de las inteligencias múltiples. Su importancia radica en la formación integral de las personas, del buen manejo de las emociones depende el éxito de las personas en los diferentes escenarios. Se ha llegado a la conclusión de la importancia capital que tiene la educación de las emociones para enfrentar situaciones de incertidumbre como ha tocado vivir a la humanidad en el contexto de la pandemia del Covid 19.
