The control of the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) of light in quantum optical system can provide an additional degree of freedom, that can enable many applications in quantum mechanics and optical communications. Lasers beams with OAM (optical vortices) are generally described by Laguerre-Gaussian modes, which have a doughnut intensity distribution with phase singularities in the wavefront. In the special case of first order OAM modes, the Poincaré sphere gives a convenient geometrical representation of those optical vortices. In nature, vibrissae are tactile hairs of mammals used as sensor elements for the exploring the surrounding area. These hairs, also known as whiskers, can be found in different locations on an animals body. Mystacial vibrissae are distributed over a whiskerpad on a muzzle. Carpal vibrissae are located on the downside aspect of the forelimbs of mammals. The vibrissal hair has a conical shape and grows from a special heavily innervated hair follicle incorporating a capsule of blood. As the hair itself has no receptors along its length, the vibrissa may be considered as a system for transmitting forces and torques that arise from the contact between the hair and an object to sensory receptors inside the follicle. El control del Momento Angular Orbital (OAM por sus siglas en inglés) de la luz en sistemas óptico cuánticos puede proveernos de un grado adicional de libertad, lo cual nos puede permitir muchas aplicaciones en mecánica cuántica y tecnologías de la comunicación que tengan como eje central la óptica en su desarrollo. Luz laser con OAM, vórtices ópticos, son generalmente descritos por modos de Laguerre-Gausianos, los cuales tienen una distribución de intensidad tipo dona, con singularidades de fase en su frente de onda. Silos are vulnerable structures during severe seismic events due to their slenderness and their interaction with stored material. This investigation presents the results of a special structure that incorporates a basal seismic isolation system, such as the Triple Friction Pendulum System (TFPS). A parametric study was conducted on eight models of reinforced concrete silos to evaluate the effectiveness of TFPS isolators in mitigating the effects of various parameters on their seismic response. This research makes significant contributions by identifying parameters that affect isolated silos, providing valuable insights into their seismic behaviour. This study estimates the economic costs of mining pollution on water resources for the years 2008 and 2009 based on the conceptual framework of Environmental Efficiency. This framework identifies such costs as the mining companies’ trade-off between increasing production that is saleable at market prices (desirable output) and reducing the environmental pollution that emerges from the production process (undesirable output). These economic costs were calculated from parametric and non parametric production possibility frontiers for 28 and 37 mining units in 2008 and 2009, respectively, which were under the purview of the National Campaign for Environmental Monitoring of Effluent and Water Resources, conducted by the Energy and Mining Investment Supervisory Agency (Osinergmin) in those years. Adsorption is a unit operation widely used for the tertiary treatment of the most diverse effluents, whose mechanism is based on removing recalcitrant compounds from the organic and inorganic origin. In this process, choosing a suitable adsorbent is a fundamental point. This review article focuses on the adsorbents with natural geological origin: minerals, clays, geopolymers, and even wastes resulted from mining activity. Therefore, over 450 articles and research papers were explored. The present study reports the normative and psychometric information of DOT (form A and B), a brief measure of visuospatial organization relevant to applied research and clinical practice. A sample of 775 university adults participated, from Lima (Peru). The administra-tion of the test was done in groups, with standardized instructions. We found moderately high test-retest reliability; and the covariation with a fluid intelligence test was small but the-oretically consistent. The clinimetrics of the measurement error and the reliable change was adequate (minimum detectable change). The intra-group and between-group (American sample) differences revealed patterns of essentially consistent results, detecting a compara-tively greater effect of practice in the Peruvian sample. The implications of the results are discussed.

Confined brick masonry (CBM) structures have demonstrated success in seismic regions due to their straightforward construction and efficient wall-to-column connections. However, there is not enough comprehensive understanding about how these structures respond to changes in geometry and material. Addressing this gap, our study employs a robust numerical technique, utilizing an integrated finite element macromodel. In this approach, we treat wall and tie members as a unified entity, enhancing computational efficiency. The concrete damage plasticity method is applied to predict the evolution of CBM wall damage, with a subsequent pushover analysis conducted to ascertain seismic capacity and response reduction factor. El nuevo material energético 2,2,5,5,7,7-hexanitrooctahidro-1,4,3-(azanetriilmetano)-1-azaciclobuta[cd]pentale no o Poliazaheterociclo hexanitrado (PAHN) con estructura densa y altamente tensionada ha sido estudiado teóricamente describiéndose u11a posible via sintética comparada con materiales energéticos tradicionales. La caracterización de la molécula se ha basado en análisis espectrales del tipo RMN (13)C y (15)N, UV/Vis e Infrarrojo. Los parámetros de la performance de detonación fueron estimados mediante las ecuaciones de Kamlet-Jacobs. The new energetic material2,2,5,5,7,7-hexanitrooctahydro-1,4,3-(azanetriylmethano)-1-azacyclobuta[cd]pent alene or Poliazaheterociclo hexanitrado (PAHN) with dense and highly stressed structure has been studied theoretically describing a possible synthetic pathway_compared with traditional energetic materials. The characterization of the molecule is based on spectral analysis of the type 13C y15N RMN, UV / Vis and Infrared. The performance parameters of the detonation were estimated using the Kamlet-Jacobs equations. The calculations were carried out through the new PM6 semi-empirical method (Parametric Model 6). The optimized geometrical parameters and heats of formation were obtained by ab initio method (UHF/6-31g*) and PM6 respectively.

El presente estudio reporta la información normativa y psicométrica del DOT (forma A y B), una medida breve de organización perceptual-visual relevante para la investigación aplicada y la práctica clínica. Participó una muestra efectiva de 775 adultos universitarios, de Lima (Perú). La administración del test se hizo en grupo, con instrucciones estandarizadas. Se halló que la confiabilidad test-retest era moderadamente alta; la covariación con una prueba de inteligencia fluida fue pequeña, pero teóricamente consistente. La información clínico-métrica sobre el error de medición y el cambio confiable fue adecuada (mínimo cambio detectable). En Perú, la norma de diseño sísmico exige el uso de aislamiento sísmico en los edificios esenciales de tipo A1 ubicados en las zonas sísmicas más altas (3 y 4). Los aisladores de caucho natural, tanto con núcleos de plomo como sin ellos, son los más utilizados; sin embargo, sus propiedades dinámicas pueden variar significativamente debido a diversos factores, los cuales son considerados en el diseño mediante los factores de modificación de propiedad Lambda.
