This article presents a qualitative analysis regarding the possible implications of the development of the theoretical framework for university training on education. On the basis of the theoretical research, the need to recognize the context in which the students' research experience takes place is identified, apart from recognizing and differentiating the components of the theoretical framework. All of the above should be based on the promotion of critical thinking and argumentative capacity from the beginning of the university studies in order to develop a critical and reflective capacity so that it can be extrapolated in the future teaching action in the classroom. The tutorial action, the hypothesis of progression and the curriculum design must allow the establishment of strategies that improve the personalized attention of the students once they begin their research experience. Fin...

This article addresses the relationship between personal identity, political commitment and scholarship in the biography of anthropologist John Victor Murra (Isaak Lipschitz). Born in 1916 into a Russian‑Jewish family in Odessa, he grew up, studied and became involved in Communist politics in Romania before his departure for Chicago in 1934. His 1956 Ph.D. thesis at University of Chicago on the Inca state helped Murra to become an influential figure in the field of Andean anthropology. Based on archival work and several testimonies, this article traces the influence of his upbringing and political commitment on his academic career.

The article shows the contributions of the Ricardo Palma Institute, through the analysis of the tradition “ Con días y ollas venceremos” (“We will win with days and pots”): the well-known historical paragraph, the description of the Lima proclamations and the meaning of the santo y seña. The reader is then invited to recognize the keys and clues left by the traditionist, making a parallelism between military strategy and the phenomenon of literary creation. Thus, the palmist narrative procedures are highlighted, especially those that correspond to the art of hiding or cheating, the suggestion and appetence of the verbal game, the modern concept of history through fiction and the blending of other elements to enhance the idea of time, space and the atmosphere of the narration. In the end the riddle appears solved with touches that ann...

The origin of life on Earth is one of the most challenging questions in science. In the last 60 years, considerable progress has been made in understanding how simple molecules relevant to life can be generated spontaneously or are known to arrive to Earth from space. Additionally, analysis of the evolution history of nucleic acids, which are the repository of genetic information, points to a now extinct, universal common ancestor for all life on Earth. The studies of the origin of life offer many clues towards a common origin, perhaps not just on Earth but somewhere else in the solar system. However due to the length of time that the Earth has harbored life, the oldest clues of the first organisms are mostly gone. It is unlikely to find exactly what this first organism was like. Nevertheless, in the last few years, synthetic biology has made remarkable progress at modifying biomolecules...

The oldest record of a carnivoran mammal in South America corresponds to the extinct procyonid Cyonasua (late Miocene–early Pleistocene). Up to now, this genus was recorded in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Venezuela. In this contribution, we report the first occurrence of Cyonasua in the Pacific coast of Peru, recovered from the late Miocene marine deposits of the Pisco Formation. The fossil material comprises postcranial bones of two individuals (MNHN SAS 1625: left femur; MNHN PPI 262: axis, right talus, and left metatarsal III). The morphology and sizes of these new fossil specimens, allow us to refer them to Cyonasua sp. This record reaffirms that procyonids were the first North American carnivorans that arrived in South America prior to the full emergence of the Isthmus of Panama, as part of the proto-Great American Biotic Interchange. The presence of Cyonasua in marine deposit...

The theoretical reflection that is presented responded to a need: to formulate a conceptual criticism that would allow the contributions of Marxism and cultural anthropology to be used for the study of Ayacucho stories. Mythical thought is not a mere "falsification" of reality as a common interpretation of the Marxist tradition implies. A review of the approaches of Marx and Engels, and of later authors, culminates in a conceptualization of its own that points out clues to the study of mythical thought and of the way of thinking, of cultural shock and syncretism.

The state and representation are back. Associated with the principles of authority and order, of democracy and mediation, both are inexhaustible concepts in contemporary political reflection. Interpreted from the Peruvian historical experience, with its continuities and ruptures, they can help us find original clues in the current debates about its transformation, its role and its functions.
