The Matlatzinco jurisdiction was located in the western part of the Basin of Mexico, whose geographic cultural landscape was characterized by the presence of the Nevado de Toluca volcano and the Lerma Lagoon, which was almost completely desiccated between 1942 and the 1970's. The Matlatzinco was invaded in 1474 by the Mexica-Tenochcas (hegemonic group in that basin), Nahuatl speakers. Matlatzinco was invaded around 1474 by the Mexica-Tenochcas (hegemonic group in that basin), speakers of Nahuatl. The names of that jurisdiction, which are known at present, are those given in Nahuatl by the Mexica invaders: Matlatzinco, and later by the Spaniards: Toluca Valley. The article proposes three Matlatzinca toponyms - the language of the rulers of this jurisdiction.

En el presente artículo, se busca comprender la evolución de la ciudad de Toluca en el marco del actual gobierno, para posicionarla como una ciudad global. Pensar las ciudades como acontecimientos públicos es mirarlas como un espacio de comunicación, con una configuración heterogénea, dinámica y tensionada por un conjunto de procesos de carácter local y global. La tríada ciudad-radio-jóvenes representa una guía para acercarnos a lo que sucede en el espacio urbano. En una ciudad que aspira a entrar a las denominadas ciudades globales; donde la Toluca de ayer, de hoy y de mañana ha visto pasar decenas de generaciones, unos acarician ilusiones, otros que soñaron con el futuro, algunos que viven el presente.

El artículo trata del cultivo de maíz en una zona lacustre con volcanes nevados, mediante el sistema de humedad y temporal, y su vínculo con algunos rituales y la conceptuación del mundo, respecto a dos cuentas calendáricas mesoamericanas. Hoy, el trabajo —residual— en la milpa es expresión de identidad, como diario sustento de la población local, y —en tanto forma de conocimiento— una posibilidad de recuperar la producción del divino maíz —con el que los dioses crearon la humanidad— ante el crítico problema de su desabasto.

El objetivo principal de esta investigación es aplicar métodos y técnicas de la geoinformática considerando las condiciones físicas, biológicas y sociales que se presentan en el Área de Protección de Flora y Fauna (APFF), con la finalidad de identificar zonas con aptitud para el desarrollo de actividades turísticas naturales o de aventura como son rappel y escalada, senderismo, cabalgata, ciclismo de montaña y observación. Noncommunicable Chronic Diseases (CNCD) are long-term conditions and their evolution is slow. Currently the number of cases is on the rise and represent the leading cause of death worldwide. The treatments are usually complex and if the population does not begin to take responsibility, taking into account the healthy habits, the consequences will be greater for the health systems. For this reason, a program based on the Primary Health Care approach was prepared, submitted to expert analysis and a pretest-posttest design research was established in the municipalities located in the Toluca Valley, in the center of the country with 188 patients with CNCD.

Las Enfermedades Crónicas No Transmisibles (ECNT) son padecimientos de larga duración y su evolución es lenta. Actualmente el número de casos va en ascenso y representan la primera causa de muerte a nivel mundial. Los tratamientos suelen ser complejos y si la población no comienza a hacerse responsable, tomando en cuenta los hábitos saludables, las consecuencias serán mayores para los sistemas de salud. Por ello se elaboró un programa con base en el enfoque de Atención Primaria de Salud, se sometió a análisis por expertos y se estableció una investigación con diseño pretest-postest que se llevó a cabo en los municipios ubicados en el valle de Toluca, en el centro del país con 188 pacientes con ECNT.

The present study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), its convergent validity with a measure of resilience and reliability in a sample of 194 children of both sexes, between 9 and 12 years old in Toluca city, Mexico. The exploratory factor analysis with the principal components method and orthogonal rotation, verifies the dimensional structure that explains 44.85 % of the total variance, and high Cronbach Alpha reliability, suggesting psychometric characteristics similar to those of the original version, and confirms the convergent validity with resilience. It is concluded that the scale is relevant to Mexican children, but there is a need to expand the sample to allow the use of confirmatory techniques.

The purpose of this study was to obtain the psychometric properties of the Test of Existential Motivations created by Längle & Eckhard in a sample of young adults living in the metropolitan area of the Valle de Toluca, Mexico. The instrument was assessed in 300 subjects. Based on the statistical analysis, it can be concluded that the test is adequate to measure existential motivations in young adults, considering the evidence of reliability and validity.

Some researchers have put in evidence the importance of the family for the individual optimal development, as well as the effects due to the lack of this. Reason why it was investigated if there are some differences between children who live in family and children who live in orphaned situation, in psychological variables such as: self-esteem, locus of control, intra-family relationships, confrontation to the problems in life, and functions of the I (self). It worked with a sample composed by 355 children of both sexes that live in family (200) and (155) who live in orphaned situation. All the children are between 9 to14 years old, and live in Toluca, Mexico State City. The results indicate differences in each one of the scales applied in favor of the family children.

This paper’s objective is to document the incidence and experience with cyber violence faced by 295 students (60% female and 40% male) from an urban university high school in the Valle de Toluca, Mexico. Based on a mixed research design, the self-report "Online Violence, 2019", a Likert-type questionnaire with 19 statements has been applied. In addition to a narrative-generating question, the students were questioned about their experience with online violence. Among the results, it stands out that 34.23% of the students have fallen in love through the internet, in addition, they face a high incidence of virtual grievances around romantic relationships, on average, 58.71%, have suffered cyber violence, 40.56% have perpetrated and 84.06% have observed it.
