El objetivo principal de esta investigación es aplicar métodos y técnicas de la geoinformática considerando las condiciones físicas, biológicas y sociales que se presentan en el Área de Protección de Flora y Fauna (APFF), con la finalidad de identificar zonas con aptitud para el desarrollo de actividades turísticas naturales o de aventura como son rappel y escalada, senderismo, cabalgata, ciclismo de montaña y observación. The landscape is a tourist attraction of international character that reflects customs, traditions and knowledge with respect to the man-nature relationship; therefore, it contains an endless number of meanings and interpretations. However, there are elements inherent to this activity that threaten its integrity and compromise its value. The objective of this paper is to examine the relationship between sustainable development and the valorization of the landscape within a tourism context. For this purpose, a cabinet analysis is chosen, gathering scientific documents for their analysis and interpretation. The results show that sustainability is an indispensable requirement and a decisive factor for landscape valorization. The objective is to provide a theoretical-methodological model that analyzes the issues and interventions of the public, social, and private sectors in the design of public policies to promote sustainable tourism and environmental conservation in the Santuario del Agua Valle de Bravo State Park, located in the State of Mexico. Methodologically, the model was developed using both theoretical and empirical elements; the former refers to sustainable tourism as the main category, with sustainability, environmental conservation, and public policies as subcategories. The empirical elements included observation and interviews with key stakeholders involved in tourism and environmental conservation within the park.
