This paper reviews the Ecuadorian Formative (4500-300 ANE) in relationship with its counterpart in the Central Andes (1800-300 ANE), trying to establish the mechanisms that operated processes of cultural transmission and their outcomes, which reflects in the archaeological record (basically ceramics) the level of interaction between these two areas, especially during the height of Chorrera, Cupisnique and Chavín societies.

Los estudios traen abundantes materiales y teorías sobre la naturaleza de las relaciones entre las comunidades campesinas y las haciendas (Tullis 1970), entre indios y mestizos (Stein 1972), y entre dominantes y dominados (Cotler). En cambio hay poco material publicado sobre las relaciones existentes entre aldeas vecinas; el material recogido por Fuenzalida (1968) y otros sobre Huayopampa es una excepción importante. Con el presente artículo esperamos contribuir a la mejor comprensión de esta cuestión, aportando un material etnográfico nuevo. Mi intención es delinear la historia de los conflictos de tierra entre la comunidad campesina de Uchucmarca y tres de sus vecinos, y sugerir algunas fuentes de fricción acerca de la tierra que originan conflictos.

En este número Allpanchis asume el reto de abordar un problema fundamental, sobre el cual existen muy pocos estudios y casi ningún debate: campesinado y violencia política en los Andes. Como para recalcar la languidez de este debate en las ciencias sociales peruanas, el eje del número lo constituye un polémico artículo del antropólogo norteamericano Orin Starn, comentado y criticado por sus colegas y paisanos: Frank Salomon, Linda Seligman, Mark Thurner, Deborah Poole y Gerardo Rénique, este último peruano residente en los EEUU. A ellos se suma Juan Ansión, "desconcertado e irritado" según confesión propia, ante este ajuste de cuentas entre norteños.

We would have liked to reach an understanding of the festival, its forms and its contents, but we can only propose a first step, something like an introduction to some aspects, leaving the authors of the various articles responsible for their interpretations.

It is possible that in our environment, accustomed to thinking that anthropology is an exotic science, which at most is concerned with studying the survivals of the past or aspects that are not significant at the present time, it is considered that the book that we are going to presenting is further proof of the digressive tendencies of this discipline. Many, then, will ask themselves what is the relevance of a book that bears the title Kinship and marriage in the Andes*; And not a few will wonder what relevance the Andean has at a time when Peruvian society is spoken of in terms of social classes, miscegenation, a homogeneous nationality, industrial development; that is, at a time when only the urban is enhanced and the Andean man is disdained, even denying him the right to maintain his own symbols and customs.

Un bioblitz es una fotografía del tiempo ecológico y proporciona un registro de especies a través del tiempo evolutivo; es un evento en el cual grupos de voluntarios (científicos, familias, estudiantes, maestros y personas de la comunidad) trabajan juntos durante 24 horas para hallar e identificar el mayor número posible de especies: plantas, animales y otros organismos, en un área específica. En ese sentido, la publicación resalta la importancia de los primeros eventos bioblitz realizados en Junín-Perú, en los años 2016 y 2017, en las ecorregiones de la puna altoandina (pastizales húmedos alpinos), y que ilustran cómo los ecosistemas se encuentran en sus límites extremos, y demuestra, además, que aún sabemos poco sobre la biodiversidad.
