El tipo de estudio fue cuantitativo y el diseño de la investigación es de manera correlacional y la muestra estuvo representada por 187 estudiantes, la técnica que se empleó fue la encuesta y como instrumento dos cuestionarios en escala Likert. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos en la investigación hay distintos tipos de violencia y se presenta una relación negativa entre autoestima y violencia, en segundo lugar, hay violencia leve, hay una correlación negativa débil = Rho Spearman= -305 entre las variables. Se concluye que a pesar de que la violencia afecta en la autoestima, los estudiantes mantienen sentimientos de autosuperación que les permite afrontar situaciones difíciles.

Therefore, the main objective of this research was to determine the relationship between family violence and self-esteem of university students from a Private University, Lima 2022. The type of study was quantitative and the research design is correlational and the sample was represented by 187 students, the technique used was the survey and as an instrument two questionnaires on a Likert scale. According to the results obtained in the research, there are different types of violence and there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and violence. Secondly, there is mild violence, there is a weak negative correlation = Rho Spearman = -305 between the variables.
