Con este propósito se diseñó un trabajo de tipo básico con un diseño no experimental – correlacional, donde la muestra estuvo conformada por tres tramos de la vía Caraz – Yuracmarca en los cuales se hizo un levantamiento topográfico, un cotejo de la señalización y demarcación y un análisis del registro del comportamiento de los conductores que transitan vía. También se tuvo acceso a los registros de la Comisaria “Cañón del Pato” de la Policía Nacional del Perú. Para luego a partir de ello organizar diversos resultados que nos permitieron conocer detalles específicos relacionados a la seguridad vial y el índice de accidentabilidad de esta importante vía. Luego de procesar cada uno de los datos recolectados llegamos a la conclusión de que existe relación alta y significativa entre la seguridad vial y el índice de accidentabilidad en la carretera Caraz – Yuracmarca, Ancash. Esta inferencia tuvo como base el resultado de la prueba de Spearman donde el valor de Rho = ,818 y significancia de p= ,002 < ,050.

For this purpose, a basic type of work was designed with a non-experimental design - correlational, where the sample consisted of three sections of the Caraz - Yuracmarca road in which a topographic survey was made, a comparison of the signaling and demarcation and an analysis of the record of the behavior of the drivers traveling on the road. Access was also made to the records of the “Cañón del Pato” Commissioner of the National Police of Peru. To later organize various results that allowed us to know specific details related to road safety and the accident rate of this important road. After processing each of the data collected, we reached the conclusion that there is a high and significant relationship between road safety and the accident rate on the Caraz - Yuracmarca, Ancash highway.
