With a sample of 54 teachers, a structured questionnaire was administered to assess their competencies. The results revealed a direct positive correlation between the use of technologies and digital competencies, with a Spearman’s Rho coefficient of 0,877, indicating a significant relationship. Correlations between the use of information technologies and the dimensions of digital competencies ranged from moderate to high. Significant correlations were observed in areas such as problem-solving (Rho=0,457), information and digital literacy (Rho=0,633), and security (Rho=0,743), among others. These findings suggest that, despite limited experience and limited knowledge of digital technologies among teachers in the institution, there is a notable relationship between the use of these technologies and their digital competencies. This study underscores the need for further training in information technologies for teachers in non-modernized urban contexts and for those who are older adults with limited prior experience in the digital domain. Enhancing digital competencies is crucial for adapting to the educational challenges in this new era of education.Ministry of Educationapplication/htmlengEditorial Salud, Ciencia y Tecnologiainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Competency AssessmentDigital TeachingEducational TechnologiesTeacher TrainingTechnology Usehttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.00.00Digital Challenges: The Need to Improve the Use of Information Technologies in Teachinginfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttp://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a384Data and Metadata3reponame:UPC-Institucionalinstname:Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadasinstacron:UPCPublicationLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-81748https://upc.dspace7.openrepository.com/bitstreams/46c4d4ed-fe72-5309-800b-3d792e8750fd/download8a4605be74aa9ea9d79846c1fba20a33MD52CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml; charset=utf-81031https://upc.dspace7.openrepository.com/bitstreams/94695e2d-5d9a-5cc7-90f2-268553429ebc/download934f4ca17e109e0a05eaeaba504d7ce4MD5110757/675748oai:upc.dspace7.openrepository.com:10757/6757482026-02-17 17:40:09.161http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessmetadata.onlyhttps://upc.dspace7.openrepository.comRepositorio académico upcrepositorioacademico@upc.edu.pe |
