Por ello, la investigación tuvo un enfoque cualitativo y un alcance descriptivo. De la misma manera, se puede considerar el presente trabajo como una investigación aplicada mientras que el diseño del estudio fue transversal. La población del estudio se estructuró considerando todos los procesos de la empresa. La muestra estuvo representada por los procesos críticos de la empresa; en concordancia con ello, se seleccionaron los procesos de producción y de ventas aplicando un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Como parte de los resultados se logró diseñar una herramienta en Microsoft Excel a partir del uso de tablas, macros, Microsoft Visual Basic para Aplicaciones y tablas dinámicas. Dicha herramienta genera la posibilidad de que la empresa pueda controlar sus operaciones diarias contabilizando litros producidos y vendidos en sus distintas presentaciones (bidones, botellas de plástico y botellas de vidrio). Asimismo, se podría llevar un control de calidad de los lotes producidos midiendo parámetros como el PH, cloro, T.D.S. (Total Dissolved Solids) y atributos como el aspecto y sabor.
