La primera zona en estudio fue la Urb. Monterrico VI etapa, donde se ejecutaron 9 calicatas obteniéndose 18 muestras en total. La segunda zona fue Fundo Los Mangos S/N, en la cual se realizaron 12 pozos de exploración sumando un total de 24 muestras. A las 42 muestras de suelo se le aplicaron ensayos de laboratorio como: contenido de humedad, análisis granulométrico, límites de consistencia, peso volumétrico, gravedad específica de los sólidos y contenido de sales, con la finalidad de conocer las características físicas que presentan, además se realizaron ensayos geotécnicos como la consolidación y corte directo al segundo estrato de cada calicata que fueron 21 muestras analizadas. Los resultados mostraron que el nivel freático se encuentra a 3 metros de profundidad en promedio en las dos zonas. Por otro lado, para las 12 calicatas pertenecientes a la zona Fundo Los Mangos, se caracteriza por tener mayor porcentaje de arcillas y limos en cada punto de exploración, el Índice Plástico varía entre 17.78% y 58.33% y el suelo predominante según la clasificación SUCS es CL (arcilla de baja plasticidad) y las sales solubles totales se encuentran entre 1500 y 1800 ppm, se muestra un asentamiento promedio de 2.60 cm y los parámetros de corte presentan una cohesión promedio de 0.221 kg/cm2 y el ángulo de 15.21°.
