description El objetivo del estudio fue identificar los factores asociados a la adherencia al Tratamiento Antirretroviral de Gran Actividad (TARGA) en pacientes VIH/SIDA en el Hospital Santa Rosa durante los meses de setiembre a noviembre del año 2023. El diseño del estudio fue de tipo descriptivo observacional retrospectivo transversal. Nuestra población de estudio estuvo conformada por pacientes con el diagnóstico de VIH y que hayan estado recibiendo TARGA. Se usaron diversos instrumentos para la recolección de datos como Adaptación del “Cuestionario de evaluación de adherencia al tratamiento de VIH/sida” (CEAT VIH), Cuestionario Duke-UNC-11, Cuestionario GHQ-12 e Índice de calidad de vida de Mezzich y Cohen además de las historias clínicas para obtener datos de cada paciente como carga viral y recuento de linfocitos TCD4. Los datos recolectados se ingresaron al programa de Microsoft Excel y para el análisis estadístico se llevaron a cabo a través del programa SPSS v.22. Resultados: En el presente estudio se incluyeron 207 pacientes dentro de estos 84,5% fueron varones 15,5% mujeres. Respecto al grado de adherencia se obtuvieron que el 15,0% de estos pacientes tuvo adherencia estricta y 47,8% con una adherencia adecuada representando más del 50% de los pacientes con un alto grado de adherencia. Además de los cuestionarios utilizados como cuestionario GH-Q12 nos permitió evaluar el bienestar psicológico obteniendo que 70% de los pacientes tienen una menor probabilidad de tener algún trastorno emocional, el índice de calidad de vida que se encontró fue una excelente calidad de vida representando 90,8% de todos los pacientes y la percepción de apoyo social fue normal 87%.
