Población muestral estuvo conformada por 68 historias clínicas de pacientes operados por GIST atendidos en hospital de tercer nivel en Trujillo entre el año 2007 al 2021. Para el análisis estadístico bivariado se utilizó la prueba chi cuadrado. La sobrevida actuarial a 5 años fue calculada según las curvas de Kaplan – Meier y el test de log – Rank, se aplicó para la diferenciación de dos o más curvas de supervivencia. El análisis multivariado, se realizó mediante el análisis de regresión de Cox e intervalos de confianza al 95% . Resultados: La supervivencia actuarial a 5 años del grupo total de los pacientes operados por GIST fue del 60%. En el análisis bivariado, la edad < 50 años, la localización gástrica, el tamaño tumoral < 5 cm, estadío clínico T1/T2 y el índice mitótico ≤ 5 fueron factores asociados a una mayor supervivencia. En el análisis multivariado, la edad < 50 años (p=0.005; HR=0.303), el tamaño tumoral < 5cm (p=0.015; HR=0.134) y el índice mitótico ≤ 5 (p=0.036; HR=0.342) fueron factores asociados a mayor supervivencia en pacientes operados por GISTs. Conclusión: La edad < 50 años, el tamaño tumoral ≤ 5 cm y el índice mitótico ≤ 5 son factores pronósticos de supervivencia en GIST operados en hospitales de tercer nivel de Trujillo 2007-2021

Material and methods: Observational, case-control study nested in a retrospective cohort. The sample population consisted of 68 medical records of patients operated on for GIST treated at a tertiary hospital in Trujillo between 2007 and 2021. For the bivariate statistical analysis, the chi-square test was used. The 5-year actuarial survival was calculated according to the Kaplan-Meier curves and the log-Rank test, which was applied to differentiate two or more survival curves. The multivariate analysis was performed using Cox regression analysis and 95% confidence intervals. Results: The 5-year actuarial survival of the total group of patients operated on for GIST was 60%. In the bivariate analysis, age < 50 years, gastric location, tumor size < 5 cm, clinical stage T1/T2 and mitotic index ≤ 5 were factors associated with greater survival.
