Resultados: El resangrado y la inestabilidad hemodinámica son factores asociados a mortalidad en pacientes con hemorragia digestiva alta. La sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo, negativo del Score Glasgow-Blatchford para predicción de mortalidad en pacientes con Hemorragia digestiva alta fue de 80%; 83%; 68% y 90% respectivamente. El mejor punto de corte del Score GlasgowBlatchford para predicción de mortalidad en pacientes con Hemorragia digestiva alta fue de 12. La exactitiud pronostica del Score Glasgow-Blatchford para predicción de mortalidad en pacientes con Hemorragia digestiva alta fue de 81% Conclusiones: El Score Glasgow – Blatchford tiene valor para predecir la mortalidad en los pacientes con Hemorragia digestiva alta durante los primeros 30 días del evento en el Hospital Cayetano Heredia de Piura en el periodo enero-diciembre del 2016.

Material and methods: A retrospective, observational study of diagnostic tests in 95 patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. We calculated the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative. The chi square test was applied and the area under the Glasgow - Blatchford Score curve was determined. Results: Hemodynamic rebleeding and instability are factors associated with mortality in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. The sensitivity, specificity, positive, negative predictive value of the Glasgow-Blatchford Score for predicting mortality in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding was 80%; 83%; 68% and 90% respectively. The best cut-off point of the Glasgow-Blatchford score for predicting mortality in patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding was 12.
