description Determinar la eficacia de la intervención educativa en el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud periodontal en padres de familia de la I.E Andrés Avelino Cáceres-Trujillo. Material y métodos: El presente estudio fue pre-experimental y longitudinal, se realizó en la I.E Andrés Avelino Cáceres- Vista Alegre, evaluando a 200 padres de familia del nivel primario. Además, se empleó un cuestionario validado previamente que constó de 20 preguntas, obteniendo a la prueba de V de Aiken 0.996 y con una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach de 0.8047 Para el análisis de resultados se empleó estadística descriptiva y estadística inferencial con la prueba McNemar para datos relacionados o emparejados. Resultados: Los resultados mostraron que la intervención educativa fue eficaz, debido a que antes el nivel de conocimiento fue insuficiente con un 64% y después de la intervención aumentó a bueno con el 71%. Se encontró que existe una variación significativa antes y después de la intervención presentando un incremento en el nivel de conocimiento (p<0.05). Conclusiones: La intervención educativa fue eficaz en el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud periodontal en los padres de familia de la I.E Andrés Avelino Cáceres- Vista Alegre.

Material and methods: The present study was pre-experimental and longitudinal, it was carried out at the I.E Andrés Avelino Cáceres-Vista Alegre, evaluating 200 parents at the primary level. In addition, a previously validated questionnaire was used that consisted of 20 questions, obtaining the Aiken V test of 0.996 and a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.8047. For the analysis of results, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used with the McNemar test for related or paired data. Results: The results showed that the educational intervention was effective, because before the level of knowledge was insufficient with 64% and after the intervention it increased to good with 71%. It was found that there is a significant variation before and after the intervention, presenting an increase in the level of knowledge (p<0.05).
