La población de estudio estuvo constituida por aquellos pacientes menores de 6 años de edad con fiebre atendidos en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo entre los años 2013 y 2019, entre 39 casos y 78 controles, obteniéndose los datos de historias clínicas que cumplieron con los criterios de selección pertinentes. Resultados: Se encontró que la anemia no es factor de riesgo para convulsión febril (p: 0,261; OR: 1,59 IC:95% [0,71 – 3,58]). Del total de pacientes con convulsión febril el 38.5% tuvo anemia y del total de pacientes sin convulsión febril el 28,2% tuvo anemia. Del total de pacientes con anemia el 56.8% fue leve y el 43,2% fue moderada. Entre las variables intervinientes, se encontró que el sexo masculino es factor asociado a convulsiones febriles (p: 0,031; OR: 2,37 IC:95% [1,07 – 5,22]), no se encontró asociación entre las otras variables intervinientes y convulsión febril. Conclusión: La anemia no es factor de riesgo para convulsiones febriles en un Hospital Público |

The study population consisted of patients under 6 years old with fever treated at the Hospital Belén de Trujillo during the years 2013 – 2019, divided into two groups: 39 cases and 78 controls, obtaining the data from medical records according to the selection criteria. Results: Anemia is not a risk factor for febrile seizures (p: 0,261; OR: 1,59; CI: 95% [0,71 – 3,58]). The 38.5% of the patients with febrile seizure had anemia and the 28.2% of the patients without febrile seizure had also anemia. From the patients with anemia, 56.8% were mild and 43.2% were moderate. Between the intervening variables, the male sex was found as an associated factor for febrile seizure (p: 0.031; OR: 2.37, CI: 95% [1.07 – 5.22]). Other intervening variables were not associated to febrile seizures.
