Por ello es necesario la implementación de un sistema de drenaje pluvial urbano eficiente, ya que el existente no abastece con la escorrentía generada, además de encontrarse discontinuo. Mediante los datos históricos registrados por la estación meteorológica Huanagacocha se realizó un análisis estadístico de distribución de la información. Así mismo, se efectuó el estudio hidrológico para la obtención de la precipitación e intensidad de diseño y de las curvas IDF. Además, se realizaron los estudios topográficos y de mecánica de suelos, los cuales arrojaron valores que permitieron efectuar el modelamiento del sistema en el software EPA SWMM. Se obtuvo finalmente la escorrentía generada en las distintas zonas de la ciudad, como también el caudal captado por los colectores el cual va a dar a una disposición final, fuente hídrica natural. Logrando así alcanzar el objetivo principal, el cual es proponer un diseño de sistema de drenaje pluvial urbano en la ciudad de Huamachuco
