El presente estudio tuvo la finalidad de establecer grados de relación existente entre las capacidades o habilidades del pensamiento crítico y el vocabulario inglés en estudiantes del Centro de Idiomas de la UPAO, 2020. Para este caso el tipo de estudio fue el básico y el diseño es el descriptivo – correlativo con corte transversal con una muestra de 92 estudiantes con nivel A1 de inglés del CIUPAO (Centro de Idiomas de la Universidad Particular Antenor Orrego) de la ciudad de Trujillo que cursan el período académico 2020-2. A esta muestra se aplicó el Cuestionario del pensamiento crítico (CPC2) (Santuiste Bermejo, 2001) y la Prueba de Vocabulario Inglés Nivel A1 (PVI-A1 (adaptado por Rodríguez, 2020 y basado en el Vocabulary Test de Correa, 2019). Según la prueba de correlación de Pearson se obtuvo un valor positivo de ,214 significando que entre las dos variables se presenta una relación significativa. Lo novedoso del estudio fue la oportunidad de establecer correlaciones en dos procesos cognitivos (pensamiento y memoria) en un entorno universitario en el que no se realizan investigaciones convencionalmente (Centro de Idiomas) con la finalidad de proponer mejoras pedagógicas en el mismo. |

In this case, the type of study was basic and the design was the descriptive - correlative cross-sectional with a sample of 92 students with A1 level of English from the CIUPAO (Language Center of the Antenor Orrego Private University) of the city of Trujillo who are in the academic period 2020-2. The Critical Thinking Questionnaire (CPC2) (Santuiste Bermejo, 2001) and the English Vocabulary Test Level A1 (PVI-A1 (adapted by Rodríguez, 2020 and based on the Vocabulary Test by Correa, 2019) were applied to this sample. According to Pearson's correlation test obtained a positive value of .214, meaning that there is a significant relationship between the two variables.
