Se encontró que el 57% de los escolares cumplen adecuadamente las medidas preventivas del COVID-19, el 24% cumple de manera parcial y el 19% no las cumple. Así mismo el 23 % se contagió de COVID-19 y el 77% no se contagió de COVID-19; de los escolares que realizaron un cumplimiento adecuado de las medidas preventivas, el 6% se contagió de COVID-19 y el 51% no se contagió; los que realizaron un cumplimiento parcial de las medidas preventivas, el 5% sí se contagió, mientras que el 18%, no y los que no cumplieron las medidas preventivas, el 11% sí se contagió y el 7%, no. La prueba estadística de Chi-cuadrado fue de p=0.001, donde se concluye que sí existe relación significativa entre las medidas preventivas y el contagio del COVID-19 en los escolares de la Institución Educativa Everardo Zapata Santillana, Trujillo.

The study was a descriptive cross- sectional study, the sample consisted of 148 schoolchildren from 3rd to 6th grade of primary school, who were given a survey and their parents were given a data collection form on the infection of COVID-19. It was found that 57% of the school children complied adequately with the COVID-19 preventive measures, 24% complied partially and 19% did not comply with them. Likewise, 23% were infected with COVID-19 and 77% were not infected with COVID-19; and the schoolchildren who adequately complied with the preventive measures, 6% were infected with COVID-19 and 51% were not infected; those who partially complied with the preventive measures, 5% were infected, while 18% were not; and those who did not comply with the preventive measures, 11% were infected and 7% were not.
