Se determinó un tamaño de muestra de 130 pacientes. Se recopilaron datos clínicos y quirúrgicos, y se aplicó la escala visual análoga para evaluar el dolor crónico. El análisis estadístico se llevó a cabo utilizando pruebas de chi-cuadrado, t de Student y regresión logística. Resultados: La prevalencia de dolor inguinal crónico fue del 21,54%. Se encontraron asociaciones significativas entre el dolor crónico y variables como sexo femenino, hipertensión arterial, índice de masa corporal, tiempo de enfermedad y tiempo operatorio prolongado. El análisis multivariado confirmó que estos factores estaban independientemente asociados con el dolor crónico. Conclusión: Este estudio reveló que factores clínicos y quirúrgicos específicos están asociados con el dolor crónico inguinal en pacientes postoperados de hernia inguinal. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de identificar y considerar estos factores en la evaluación y manejo de estos pacientes para prevenir o tratar el dolor crónico de manera efectiva |

Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was performed. The study population included adult patients postoperatively treated for inguinal hernia for more than three months at the Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo. A sample size of 130 patients was determined. Clinical and surgical data were collected, and the visual analog scale was applied to assess chronic pain. Statistical analysis was performed using chi-square, Student's t-test and logistic regression. Results: The prevalence of chronic groin pain was 21.54%. Significant associations were found between chronic pain and variables such as female sex, arterial hypertension, body mass index, time of illness and prolonged operative time. Multivariate analysis confirmed that these factors were independently associated with chronic pain. Conclusion: This study revealed that specific clinical and surgical factors are associated with chronic groin pain in postoperative inguinal hernia patients.
