RESULTADOS: En el grupo con anemia la edad promedio fue de 73.1 años (±11.47), el sexo más frecuente fue el femenino con 45 pacientes (64.3%) y la etiología que predominó fue la cardiopatía dilatada con 15 casos (21.4%). A diferencia del grupo sin anemia donde la edad promedio fue de 65.7 años (±11.22), el sexo que prevaleció fue el masculino con 39 pacientes (55.7%) y la etiología más frecuente fue la cardiopatía hipertensiva con 24 casos (34.3 %) De los pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva se observó que fallecieron el 25.7% de los que presentaron anemia; mientras que aquellos pacientes que no presentaron anemia solo fallecieron el 2.9%. Se encontró un RR de 9.0 que indica que los pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva que presentan anemia, tienen 9 veces más posibilidades de fallecer que aquellos pacientes con Insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva que no presentan anemia. (p= 0.000111; < 0.01) CONCLUSIONES: La anemia es un factor de riesgo de Mortalidad Intrahospitalaria en pacientes con Insuficiencia cardiaca congestiva.

RESULTS: In the group with anemia, the mean age was 73.1 years (± 11.47), the most frequent sex was female with 45 patients (64.3%) and the predominant etiology was dilated heart disease with 15 cases (21.4%). In contrast to the nonanemic group, where the mean age was 65.7 years (± 11.22), the prevalent gender was the male with 39 patients (55.7%) and the most frequent etiology was hypertensive heart disease with 24 cases (34.3%), Of the patients with congestive heart failure, it was observed that 25.7% of those with anemia died; While those patients who did not present anemia only died 2.9%. An RR of 9.0 was found to indicate that patients with congestive heart failure who present anemia are 9 times more likely to die than those patients with congestive heart failure who do not present anemia.
