La población muestral estuvo constituido por 60 pacientes con cirugía programada; para la recolección de datos se utilizaron como instrumentos el test sobre el nivel de información pre quirúrgico y Escala de Ansiedad e Información Preoperatorio de Amsterdam (APAIS). Los resultados obtenidos permitieron concluir que el 50% de los pacientes obtuvo un nivel alto de información, el 46,7% un nivel medio y el 3,3% un nivel bajo de información. Con respecto al grado de ansiedad el 80% de los pacientes presento algún grado ansiedad, siendo el 50% leve y el 30% moderado, el 20% restante de pacientes no presento ansiedad. Así mismo, existe relación estadística significativa entre nivel de información y grado de ansiedad [Rho de Spearman = -0,702 gl= 2 p= 0,000].

Its objective was to determine the relationship between the level of information and the degree of anxiety of the patient in the preoperative period in a Private Clinic in Chimbote, 2020. The sample population consisted of 60 patients with scheduled surgery; For data collection, the test on the level of pre-surgical information and the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS) were used as instruments. The results obtained allowed us to conclude that 50% of the patients obtained a high level of information, 46.7% a medium level and 3.3% a low level of information. Regarding the degree of anxiety, 80% of the patients presented some degree of anxiety, 50% being mild and 30% moderate, the remaining 20% of patients did not present anxiety.
